My opinion: - Parking is available for all types of vehicles and also option for parking by the side of the road. Outdoor dining at first floor and Air-conditioned dining at ground floor.

An earlier visited reputed restaurant, years back was undoubtedly our choice while at Visakhapatnam as we wanted to choose for avenues for Lunch. We were 04 adults and 02 kids, was around 2pm and we were offered a seat post waiting for 20 minutes.

The crowd was as usual as it was on a Sunday, we found nothing has changed in the ambience. We were glad to see the Captain coming for taking our order, Mr Srinivasa Rao, who had just shown menu for us, ''Sir biriyani, friedrice, roti, please tell me fast as the kitchen is going to close''. We were really disheartened but then, we ordered Chicken Biriyani at the same instant and asked for Fresh lime juice and soda. He replied, ''Only mineral water, Pepsi, coke, Sprite available''. We said we 02 mineral water bottles and also asked for a glass of Hot water for child since he had a bad stomachache. He straight away denied the same. We were dumbstruck with that reply of his and realised that the kamat restaurant has totally changed.

Later, one of the Steward Mr. Ramu came for getting us the water bottles, we requested him for a glass of water for which he said he will check from the kitchen and bring. We were relieved. We were again surprised with the arrival of fresh lime soda/juice on our neighbouring table. Naturally, we called up for the Captain and informed him the same and told him to please call your Manager. Mr. Tirupati Rao, Manager came and we explained the situation to him and both of them started discussing the issue each other at the same instant infront of us. Anyways, finally the Manager with some years of experience in this field (as claimed by him), told us he will check with the kitchen and get back regarding the fresh lime. Finally, they served us the Biriyani and the fresh lime juice/soda later.

Food was delicious as expected but the warmth which we had experienced before is nowhere close to the current one. Anyways, er continued gulping our food as we could see slowly the restaurant was getting prepared for the cleaning and next shift. As the adults finished with the food, Kids were progressing or slowly. We could see now the stewards staring at us as if they want us to leave the restaurant ASAP. Towards this they started switching Off the Airconditioners first, then the sweeper arrived to clean our space too poking around with the cleaning gear, really sad state of affairs. It so happened that one among the kids were woken up from her sleep due to the heat and We asked the waiter standing to be kind enough not to switch off the Airconditioners, consider keeping it on for 15 mins. But no-one heard us. We could find also the entire serving crew of the now staring at us and only thing left for them to say was ''Get lost from the restaurant now''. Really embarrassing moment for us. Then came a well dressed elderly couple, inside the hotel who took all our attention and we assumed it tobe the owners of the Kamat Restaurant. No alternative for the Airconditioners available if at all it's switched off, like fans etc.

Our assumption was correct and we found the couple to be the owner of the restaurant on enquiring. As we were winding up with our food, and moving out, we happen to meet them and explained the observations. It had changed a lot from our previous visit defenitely but unfortunately not for good.

Too much of ambient noise, no background music which makes it a dull place.

Not so pocket friendly currently but delicious food and Value for Money.

#Looking forward for a better experience in the next visit.

#1500h to 1730h it's closed. #Rest Rooms available and decent #BonAppetit #Cards & Cash accepted. Bottled and normal...

Felt discriminated as a north indian, Was here in vizag for a visit, heard positive about KAMAT from a acquaintance for its non veg food. The food did live up to its expectation, but.. The service we felt was rude. At first, we took our time to order-- meanwhile we were forced to order quickly for some reason (maybe to give seats to the ones waiting? No, the resto had seats empty) We were ordering, while being skeptical about ordering and the manager is standing, we saw them (waiters) mocking and giving some "I've had enough of them" signs among themselves. While eating, a plate of my family member was taken with no prior warning. (I understand that there could be misunderstandings since we don't share a same language, but I felt these guys were a bit too hasty and not friendly) The last nail in the coffin, while paying for the bill-- after the payment is done and we were about to leave, the waiter asked for a tip (which isn't a case in most north states, could be a south thing, it's understandable) but when we gave it (even after not willing to, we gave a normal sum which is considered normal in our side ₹₹) but after giving, the waiter said "kya sir" and blabbered something in telugu in an angry tone. The bathrooms weren't up the mark, nor does the rooftop have a proper washing area-- which is alright and not a huge problem given rooftop doesn't has a notable space for the utility. Overall the food was nice, but such a rude experience does not instill confidence in revisiting this restaurant. One is supposed to tip only when they feel the servers did a good job serving and we are satisfied, but it was not a case this time, we were clearly unsatisfied and then treated badly after a tip. It could be my first time experiencing how things work in south. Peace.

This is one of the budget friendly family hotels in Vizag. The ambiance is pretty simple and they have separate indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor (rooftop) dine areas. There are around 15 tables indoor and more on the open area which is on the rooftop. The entrance of the restaurant is well lit up with different colors of LED lights to attract the attention of the people passing by. Once you enter into this place, you can see the live kebab and Tandoori counters in the entrance to make sure to give you a mouth watering experience before you go ahead for your dine course. They have a separate area for To-Go orders with fast delivery in case you want to pick up food for takeaway. Talking about the food - the food is good here and the quantity of food they serve is pretty good for the price we pay. The starters ('Chilly Fish', 'Pepper chicken', 'Tandoori Chicken') were yummy however the 'Fried chicken biryani' was average and was like we are having plain biryani rice without any much flavor. And felt like the regular 'Dum Biryani' was far better. Do try their 'Special Biryani' - we took a takeaway for that one and we like it. Overall the dine experience was good however the tables are placed like pretty close to each other so do not expect much of a privacy here. You can clearly hear what is being discussed in the next table. The staff are polite and service is fast. Overall its a pleasant experience.
