I recently had the pleasure of dining at Athididevobava, a gem of a restaurant that specializes in authentic Rayalaseema cuisine. From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warm hospitality, reflecting the name of the restaurant which means "The guest is equivalent to God."
The ambiance is inviting, with traditional decor that transports you to the heart of Rayalaseema. The menu is extensive, offering a variety of dishes that showcase the rich and spicy flavors characteristic of the region.
I started with the "Ragi Mudda" and "Natu Kodi Pulusu" – a delightful combination that was both hearty and flavorful. The ragi ball was perfectly cooked, and the country chicken curry had the right balance of spices, making each bite a treat.
For the main course, I opted for the "Rayalaseema Mutton Biryani." It was an explosion of flavors – the mutton was tender, and the spices were blended to perfection. The portion size was generous, and it was served with a refreshing raita that complemented the biryani beautifully.
The service was exceptional, with attentive staff who were knowledgeable about the dishes and eager to ensure a pleasant dining experience. The chef even came out to greet us, adding a personal touch to our visit.
Overall, Athididevobava exceeded my expectations. The authenticity of the Rayalaseema flavors, the welcoming ambiance, and the impeccable service make it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience true Telugu cuisine. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend this restaurant to all food...
Read moreSomeone who had previously visited this restaurant directed fourteen of us to it for lunch. The seating and dinner tables were made of cheap granite slabs. It was so uncomfortable and hard to sit. The distance between the seat and the rock table was so wide that one would have to lean forward so much that if you’re short, it’s not possible to sit and eat. No water will be served and no water glasses are available. Paid water only in bottles, not in glasses. Speaking of cutlery, cheap plastic plates and on-demand spoons and forks are provided. I am vegetarian, along with three of us, and the rest of us are non-vegetarians. Based on that count, we have placed an order for prawns, chicken, paneer, mushrooms, mutton keema, cum prawn biriyani, and gongura biriyani. Honestly, anyone who can eat can also cook better than them. One can only see and taste, the red color, a good amount of salt, fiery hot red chilli powder, and oil. Therefore, there is no flavour or taste. We unanimously agreed on this opinion. There is no ambiance; it looks like a makeshift shed. The handwash area looks dirty, and I don’t know about the washrooms, as I have not used them or asked for them. In terms of pricing, they are not cheap, but they may not be expensive either, as I am not familiar with the non-veg menu. The only plus was that, unlike similar establishments, there was no fishy or...
Read moreFound amidst residential street. Peaceful. Adequate space for car parking. Dining: There are 2 places 1 for customers who are served in silver plates with extra fee (250 per head). Didn’t feel it’s worth. Specially South Indians. It is so common that we have silver plates at home. So one doesn’t feel the need to have that experience. 2nd is the common area with table made of granite. On Sunday we went around 1:30 PM. It got filled only after 2pm. Got crowded very soon. Ordered: 2 types of soups (paya and bone soup) 2 starters ( mushroom and chicken) everything tasted spicy 🌶️. Then went for 2 biryanis- gongura and prawn, then plain rice- we had to mix with gravy of starters. It was great. Then Blue mojitos and cool drinks. They only have 250ml glass bottles. Food: food is super spicy. If you have sensitive gut 🔥 go for veg items or keep beverages ready to calm down your taste buds 👅. Any item seems spicy. Gongura biryani became my favourite. The flavour is still felt now. Service: taking time. You need to have patience or order all at once. They have a wide table swing which is...
