For the past 15 years, Beatrix Restaurant at Guwahati Club has been my culinary sanctuary. Nestled opposite St. Mary's Convent in Silpukhuri, this charming eatery offers a delightful blend of Chinese, North Indian, Assamese, and fast food cuisine. Despite the evolving food scene in Guwahati, Beatrix has remained a constant testament to its exceptional quality and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.
Ambiance and Service: The restaurant exudes a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for casual dining. The seating arrangement is comfortable, and the decor, though simple, adds to the homely feel. The staff at Beatrix are always courteous, attentive, and efficient, making every visit pleasant and hassle-free. Over the years, their consistent warmth and friendliness have added a personal touch to my dining experiences.
Signature Dishes: While the menu is extensive, I have a few favorites that have never been disappointed:
Chicken Burger: The chicken burger at Beatrix is a culinary delight. The patty is juicy and well-seasoned, sandwiched between fresh buns with crisp lettuce, tangy pickles, and a dollop of their special sauce. It's a perfect balance of flavors and textures, making it a must-try.
Spring Roll: The spring rolls are crispy on the outside and packed with a flavorful mix of vegetables and chicken on the inside. Served with a tangy dipping sauce, they are an excellent starter that sets the tone for the meal.
Chicken Cutlet: The chicken cutlets are perfectly breaded and fried to a golden brown, maintaining a tender and juicy interior. They are seasoned just right and are a nostalgic reminder of comfort food at its best.
Momo: The momos at Beatrix are legendary. These steamed dumplings, filled with a succulent mixture of chicken and spices, are served with a spicy chutney that complements them beautifully. Each bite is a burst of flavor, making them an absolute favorite.
Lime Soda: To wash down these delectable dishes, I always opt for their lime soda. It's refreshingly zesty and a perfect palate cleanser, balancing the richness of the food.
Overall Experience: Beatrix is more than just a restaurant; it's a part of my life's fabric. Over the years, it has consistently provided excellent food, warm service, and a cozy atmosphere. Whether it's a casual lunch, a celebratory dinner, or just a quick bite, Beatrix never fails to deliver a satisfying experience.

Read moreI had what was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a restaurant in my life here.
I ordered the fish and chips, which was very expensive (270 rupees) compared to most other items on the menu.
But I was really hungry, so I paid extra to ensure that I would be given a larger quantity of food.
When the food arrived, i can only describe my reaction as total HORROR. Horror then turned into anger and then denial. I searched around inside the bag, sure that I must have missed something. This couldn't be? Surely? I paid 270 rupees? How could they do this to me? It then dawned on me that I had been completely scammed.
They gave so few French fries that I could literally count them. There was about 15 french fries in total (there should have been at least 80-100)in a sorry looking pile and a small amount of fish.
The food was tasty, but the quantity wasn't even enough to feed a hungry child. The food took me about 3 minutes to eat, when I normally take 15 minutes to eat a meal. This was because there was such a tiny amount of food. I was absolutely starving after finishing the meal and vowed never to go to this restaurant again.
You pay more, and they give you less. This was a total scam. I have learned my lesson. I will never think again that paying more will get me more.
High prices stem from greed and desire for profit. I will never eat here again. You have...
Read moreReally DISAPPOINTED to say the least. We came here because the place was well reviewed and described as hamburger cafe, so we wanted to have a nice juicy burger here for lunch. The menu had a good selection of burgher, such as chicken, fish, mutton BUT all the burghers are prepared with FRIED PATTIES. We understand that it could be a choice of the chef but use of ALL FRIED MEAT AND MAYONNAISE is definitely not a very healthy choice and can be disliked by some clients. We asked if we could have our burghers GRILLEd INSTEAD OF FRIED, since we saw 5 dishes on the menu which were proposed as grilled, so in theory the chef can use grilling as method of cooking. Unfortunately, the reply was NO, you take FRIED or you get nothing. It seemed pretty unflexible. If the place does not care about the clients, it is a pity. It is not difficult to grill instead of frying, but obviously their understanding of fast food is something oily, fried, full of mayonnaise.. so NO HEALTHY CHOICES AVAILABLE. Service 1 of 5, food 1 of 5,...
