Ghoomar is traditional restaurant enriched with Rajasthani culture . They had arranged a group party for us. When we enter the restaurant they welcomed us with Rajasthani folk song and lots of respect. Ambience was showing the reflection of Rajasthani tradition as all staff were wearing Pagdi, they gave Pagdi to all customers who were available to feel it. If I talk about the food, it was palatable they have multiple cuisine which u can take multiple times there is no restrictions. Initially they will provide you starter afterwards main course will be served. All the dishes were pure veg with superb taste as it's difficult to fund such veg restaurant in city like Guwahati.Even they provided Fasting thali for some people of our group. You will enjoy your food more because, continuously you will listen beautiful folk songs performed by an artist with retro musical instrument to respresent the culture which is still maintained. The moment will take u to the cloud nine. We all were so much happy with the food, presentation, how they served with love always saying "Seth Ji" or lo ye try karo dusra item hai and u will keep trying the dishes. It was such wonderful party that night , thanks to all staff of Ghoomar. I would suggest everyone to must visit and taste the multiple cuisine of Rajasthani at a time with folk songs. I would suggest to open more such restaurant in different area...

Almost Two years ago, my wife took me to Ghoomar to experience the rich tradition of Rajasthani food and culture. We had the Rajasthani Thali, and I was genuinely impressed by the excellent service and delicious food.
Fast forward to yesterday — Sunday, 23rd March 2025 — I revisited Ghoomar around 1:50 PM with my parents, filled with the same high expectations from my previous visit. To my surprise, the restaurant, which was packed during my last visit, was nearly empty this time. A single staff member greeted us and showed us to our table.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning wasn’t working, so we were seated inside. The lively ambiance from before was gone — no musicians in traditional attire playing Rajasthani instruments to create that vibrant cultural vibe.
We settled down, hoping the food would make up for it, but sadly, the service and quality were a huge letdown. The food quality was noticeably worse than before, and we waited a frustrating 20 minutes just to get roti after the side dishes had already been served.
The overall experience was disappointing — especially for my elderly parents, whom I wanted to treat to something special. Ghoomar once left a lasting, positive impression on me, but this visit completely shattered it.
I can no longer recommend Ghoomar to anyone after...
Read moreWe have had the best thali’s and best hosting by thali places but the captains here need a lot of training as to how they have to behave with their hosts , we thought of sitting somewhere else as the place was quite aesthetic but while asking for the seat we were told it was booked and then we sat else where , that wasn’t a great feeling as the restaurant was mostly empty . Felt really cheated from that moment onwards and As for the so called reserved seat nobody turned up , As for the food for which we were charged 2000+ for a family of 4 , they charge kids below 10 years as half . Food ain’t great quite average most items , some items were overall good. They have good ambience and If they do train their people well and improve their food they have good standing in Guwahati as it’s the mostly the only premium Rajasthani thali available , the service is slow , you have to wait quite a bit to get the next item . Number of items isn’t important each item must be good enough . Kachori , chaas , moong dal halwa and churma were good . Taste of Sabji could...
