The View Restaurant and Lounge — Restaurant in Assam

Live Music- We specially went for the live music, after inquiring from the restaurant, on 20 jan 2024. I am rarely disrespectful towards artiststs, but the performer on that night, a local guy, some Sonti I think, was painfully bad. We had to rush out after rushing through our drinks, because the music was just so so bad. If they had had in house music rather, I would have happily stayed back for dinner. My evening was ruined because of the performer.

Ambience and Decor- It has both indoor and outdoor setting. In the outdoor seating area, one has the hill view with sports tv, other gives you the city view. The view outside is spectacular, especially at night. The outdoor seating area has roof, so it doesnot feel as cold in winter. Indoor seating area too has two parts, one nearer to the live music performance, other nearer to the bar counter area. The decor is beautiful, with some nice quotes and flat screens. The bathroom is very cute too. Beautiful decor maintained, accompanied by the awesome view.

Food- The BEST. Tried The Carnival cocktail. Hats off to the bartender! I was blown. Sex in the Beach was good too. Corona Beer came with a plate of green sprout , peanut mix, which tasted awesome too! The chicken appetizer with creamy filling was just too good. The food here is hands down one of the best in Guwahati. But I couldnot enjoy the food at all, because the singer was just so so bad, that it irritated me so greatly, ruined my mood, that we had to leave. I hope in future they primarily review the singers or else they lose business.

Service- There are a lot of staff to cater to the customers. Service is good. Not cordial though, I must say. A smiling face would be nicer.

Pricing- It is definitely highly priced. No entry fee. But the drinks and food is defiinitely on the upscale range. It compensates for the food taste and view. But with the horrible live music performance, the evening was a torture.

How to reach- Go to the back side of Guwahati Central/ Centro Mall, take the stairs, take a left turn and you will find the elevator. Go to the sixth floor, elevator opens right infront of the restaurant.

I would definitely go back and spend the evening and night and for the fingerlicking good food and amazing view, ONLY if the singer is bearable.

Great concept. Brilliant view. Good food & beverages. What I didn’t understand is why the management is shying away from guiding customers to their doorstep. We went on cab, followed Google maps. Alighted at destination and then started the confusion. There was no signage to the restaurant. The only visit ke entrance was of the Mall. The mall guard asked us to go to the backside. We went to the backside of the building and saw nothing. ZERO signage. We saw some guards at an apartment gate and asked them for guidance. They asked us to walk up the steps and go to 6th floor. The took the steps and could see 2 lifts. One was being used by inmates to ferry goods so we took the other one. Came out on 6th floor and then the Restaurant entrance was right there.

So apart from the above bitter experience, ‘The View’ is all good. However they charge a 10% service fee that comes clubbed on bill. Our bill was 7K plus and the service charges were 600 plus. That’s very unfair. I was with family so didn’t want to create a scene by asking them to get a bill minus the service charges, so I honoured the bill.

I recently visited Skyscape in Guwahati, and it was a great experience overall. The place offers a fantastic view, perfect for anyone who enjoys a scenic atmosphere while dining. The food was delicious, and they have a big screen where you can catch live sports, which is a major plus. I was there during an IPL match, and it made the experience even more exciting.

However, I wasn't a fan of the lighting—it's a bit too dim for my liking. Also, the service could be improved, as it was a bit slow, but nothing that completely ruined the vibe.

On the bright side, the venue is spacious, making it an excellent choice for parties and large gatherings. I didn’t have any details on the prices since I was invited for a party, but from what I experienced, it’s definitely a place I’d recommend for a fun outing.
