Terra Maya is undoubtedly one of the most happening and upscale spots in Guwahati, and my recent visit there was a refreshing experience worth talking about. Located in a prime area, this rooftop lounge and restaurant offers a blend of great ambience, food, music, and crowd — making it a top pick for both casual evenings and special outings.
The ambience is one of Terra Maya’s strongest features. The place is beautifully done, with a tasteful mix of indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area, in particular, is perfect for Guwahati’s pleasant evenings — ideal for relaxing under the stars while sipping on a drink and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. The addition of live music enhances the entire vibe. The band playing that evening added just the right touch of energy without being too loud or intrusive. It's clearly a place where the crowd appreciates good music, food, and company — sophisticated yet fun-loving.
Moving to the drinks, I was thoroughly impressed with their cocktail menu. The cocktail I ordered was exceptionally well-balanced, both in flavor and presentation — clearly crafted by someone who knows their mixology. However, I did find their mocktail selection lacking. A large number of them were out of stock, and the one I tried — Mango Tango — was underwhelming and tasted rather average. This was the only minor letdown in an otherwise stellar experience.
We ordered Tempura Sushi for dining, and I must say, it was outstanding. The sushi was fresh, well-rolled, and served with perfectly cooked sticky rice, which is a detail many places get wrong. It easily ranks among the best sushi I’ve had in Guwahati — flavorful, authentic, and plated beautifully.
The service deserves special mention. The staff was courteous, warm, and attentive throughout the evening. Despite it being a busy night, they made sure every table was looked after and took the time to accommodate special requests with a smile. It’s always a pleasure when the service matches the quality of the food and ambience.
One minor inconvenience was the parking situation. While parking space is available, there is no valet service, which can be a hassle, especially on weekends when the place is packed. Still, it's a small trade-off considering the quality experience Terra Maya offers.
Here’s my quick rating summary:
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 5/5
Drinks: 4/5
Parking: 3/5
In conclusion, Terra Maya remains a go-to destination in Guwahati for those looking to unwind in a stylish setting with great food, music, and service. Whether you're catching up with friends, planning a date night, or simply in the mood to treat yourself, Terra Maya won’t disappoint. Just hope they restock their...
Read moreTerra Mayaa is an amazing place which has place for everyone, It has A disc, A Restaurant and an Open Balcony Restuarant on the same floor but separate from each other. We were there on a Saturday and after a ling long flight it was an amazing experience.
Went to Terra Mayaa after hearing a lot about it. Safe to say, this was going to be the first and last visit. If you're shocked with my low ratings, so am I since I tried very hard to rate them better. First the positives, whatever there is: The ambience is definitely nice and they have lovely outdoor rooftop seating with a nice view of the city. The interior is spacious and nice too with plenty of room in between tables. Attentive waiters doing the best they can Just the fact that they keep craft beer is a + in my book, but read on for the bad part..
The negatives: This has to be the first microbrewery ever that I did not like ANY of the four beers that they had in stock! I'm a bit of a beer connoisseur and never have I encountered such bad beer, all four of them! Huge Disappointment! Prices of food compared to the quantity is ridiculous. Calamari fritter was 695 for a plate (see picture) which was half the amount you would get in a pub in Bangalore or Mumbai for less price. For comparison, the top Microbrewery in Bangalore, Toit sells a plate of Calamari fritters for 400 only. To make it worse, they cut the calamari rings in half to make them look like more!! The waiters are polite but are largely clueless about the menu and drinks. Simple questions like the names and compositions of the craft beers could not be answered. Taxes, taxes, taxes - a straight 10% service charge, 19.25% VAT on craft beer and all the other CGST,, SGST etc. While its not entirely their fault, the 19.25% VAT on craft beer in Assam is absolutely ridiculous. The usual problem of expensive mineral water being kept at each table instead of normal water. Difficult to find even after finding the correct building, even within which there are no signs on the ground floor. Its on the 6th Floor on Anil Plaza
This is a place which I tried very hard to like. But as is the pattern in Guwahati, overcharging and zero value for money, along with bad quality combined to make this a bad evening. These are hyped places and unlike metro cities where spending more also means you get more, here you are expected to spend more for just an illusion dressed in...
