Its clear, location is the only factor on which this restaurant is still surviving. Otherwise it should have shut down years ago due to zero Value for money, service filled with arrogance and pathetic taste. But, since its situated just down the RT Nagar flyover on the Bellary Road and this is the first branded restaurant which you can see after entering Bangalore people will fall prey to this place.
SERVICE: I visited this restaurant on a weekday morning around 7.30AM. Though cashier was available at the counter he was not at all interested in taking order. He was
playing with rubber band without the consciousness of the physical world. I approached him twice and thought he might not the cashier. But, after 5-7 mins he only asked what do I want! After getting the bill, the same story continued at service desk. Service guy was busy in stacking the parcel cartons and didn't even bothered about me for next 3 mins. Clearly these people are not professional and despite of paying such hefty price, they treat us like we are having free breakfast. Totally unacceptable.
AMBIANCE: Its quite small compared to A2Bs in central & South Bangalore. It can host guests up to 35-40 at a time. Tables are placed very close to each other and doesn't offers any privacy. Wall decals are very close to seat and customer needs to take caution while getting up from seats. Serving counter is very small and not visible from 3 tables which are behind serving area. Just like any other A2B restaurant a large array of sweet's showcases occupies maximum space.
FOOD: I must say, this is among those few A2B branch which is committed to ruin the brand value. I ordered Vada at first, despite of requesting it must be Sambar dip, server served it with seperate chutney & sambar bowl. Though it was crispy the taste was very bland. They have totally forgotten to mix any key ingredient to that Vada. It was just deep fried batter. Then I ordered Masal Dosa. They served it with 3 types of chutney (Pudina, Tomato & Coconut chutney) and sambar. Dosa was pathetic in taste and appeared like they have used last day's batter. But coconut chutney was good and true to its Tamil Nadu origin.
EVERYTHING ELSE: I think parking wouldn't be a problem as the service road is quite free from traffic. Wash area was clean. Since kitchen is not visible from serving area, I can't comment on hygiene factor.
FINAL VERDICT: I highly recommend to AVOID this...
Read moreA2B - Adyar Ananda Bhavan is one of the oldest running restaurant chains in the garden city. The restaurant menu offers a wide range of choices from south to north along with Chinese cuisine. The restaurant staff is professional and well trained. The overall ambience is ok. Great for quick bites for busy schedule holders with great food experience. In short value for money, cheap meals is the key attraction for A2B - Adyar Ananda Bhavan. Best suited for families, friends and group hangouts. This all vegetarian outlet has been going great guns in the city. Those who want their crisp Dosa and Adai-Avial combo always make it to Adyar Ananda Bhavan or A2B, as they like to call themselves, at any time of the day. Affordable prices and consistently good quality set the A2B tiffin experience apart. Try here the Rava Dosa, served with three types of chutneys, the Sambar Vada and the Basundi, the signature sweet at this chain. Other than traditional South Indian Tiffin, Adyar Ananda Bhavan has now also ventured into chaat and Pav Bhaji, but it’s the idli-dosa-vada routine they’ve really perfected. It’s self-service and can get pretty crowded, especially in the evenings. They have several outlets in Bangalore.
