Its clear, location is the only factor on which this restaurant is still surviving. Otherwise it should have shut down years ago due to zero Value for money, service filled with arrogance and pathetic taste. But, since its situated just down the RT Nagar flyover on the Bellary Road and this is the first branded restaurant which you can see after entering Bangalore people will fall prey to this place.

SERVICE: I visited this restaurant on a weekday morning around 7.30AM. Though cashier was available at the counter he was not at all interested in taking order. He was

playing with rubber band without the consciousness of the physical world. I approached him twice and thought he might not the cashier. But, after 5-7 mins he only asked what do I want! After getting the bill, the same story continued at service desk. Service guy was busy in stacking the parcel cartons and didn't even bothered about me for next 3 mins. Clearly these people are not professional and despite of paying such hefty price, they treat us like we are having free breakfast. Totally unacceptable.

AMBIANCE: Its quite small compared to A2Bs in central & South Bangalore. It can host guests up to 35-40 at a time. Tables are placed very close to each other and doesn't offers any privacy. Wall decals are very close to seat and customer needs to take caution while getting up from seats. Serving counter is very small and not visible from 3 tables which are behind serving area. Just like any other A2B restaurant a large array of sweet's showcases occupies maximum space.

FOOD: I must say, this is among those few A2B branch which is committed to ruin the brand value. I ordered Vada at first, despite of requesting it must be Sambar dip, server served it with seperate chutney & sambar bowl. Though it was crispy the taste was very bland. They have totally forgotten to mix any key ingredient to that Vada. It was just deep fried batter. Then I ordered Masal Dosa. They served it with 3 types of chutney (Pudina, Tomato & Coconut chutney) and sambar. Dosa was pathetic in taste and appeared like they have used last day's batter. But coconut chutney was good and true to its Tamil Nadu origin.

EVERYTHING ELSE: I think parking wouldn't be a problem as the service road is quite free from traffic. Wash area was clean. Since kitchen is not visible from serving area, I can't comment on hygiene factor.

FINAL VERDICT: I highly recommend to AVOID this...

A2B - Adyar Ananda Bhavan is one of the oldest running restaurant chains in the garden city. The restaurant menu offers a wide range of choices from south to north along with Chinese cuisine. The restaurant staff is professional and well trained. The overall ambience is ok. Great for quick bites for busy schedule holders with great food experience. In short value for money, cheap meals is the key attraction for A2B - Adyar Ananda Bhavan. Best suited for families, friends and group hangouts. This all vegetarian outlet has been going great guns in the city. Those who want their crisp Dosa and Adai-Avial combo always make it to Adyar Ananda Bhavan or A2B, as they like to call themselves, at any time of the day. Affordable prices and consistently good quality set the A2B tiffin experience apart. Try here the Rava Dosa, served with three types of chutneys, the Sambar Vada and the Basundi, the signature sweet at this chain. Other than traditional South Indian Tiffin, Adyar Ananda Bhavan has now also ventured into chaat and Pav Bhaji, but it’s the idli-dosa-vada routine they’ve really perfected. It’s self-service and can get pretty crowded, especially in the evenings. They have several outlets in Bangalore.

Keerthi Gowda 20 Sep 2013 Had been here several times . Food tastes very good but place will be like jam packed. I love to eat vada in A2B it ll be soft and crispy.

Akshata Chaturvedi 07 Nov 2012 I have been to Adyar Ananda Bhavan many times. I like the place and food as well. They serve amazingly prepared delicacies. I would say South-Indian at the best. Dosa, sambar and vada are amazing. I like their Rava and m...

DON'T VISIT! Overpriced, low quantity. Bad service (attitude) from staff. And no toilet!

Go to Krishna Sagar on CBI road or any other restaurant

Adyar Ananda Bhavan is usual good, but this franchise management is bad

Friends, find a restaurant that will value you and your money as well.

Details

  1. Delay - staff forgot about the biryani order we'd given and then gave it to us 40 mins later when we reminded them of the order
  2. Cold food - the masala dosa we'd ordered was cold, we didn't complain though.
  3. General attitude - staff here act as if customers are eating for free. There is no service oriented attitude at all. I'm okay with paying a premium price if I'm getting good service, but here you get over charged for bad service.
  4. Billing delays - the billing guy behind counter was in his own world. He took forever to bill our order and acted irritated when we asked why there was a delay
  5. No toilet - even with all the high price these people charge they don't have a toilet that one can use. The toilet was locked for customers

We'd a bad experience and would suggest you to avoid this restaurant to save you from a...

This was my first time at this outlet of A2B . It sure lived up to the name in terms of customer service and food. The staff was very helpful and courteous. The lady (akka) at the billing counter was very sweet. The manager was also very kind and open to suggestions & feedback. In fact he only requested me to click a photo, finish my meal and then give a review. So I ordered a"mini lunch meal" under the South Indian meals. It had 3 types of rice varieties- Curd rice, Lemon rice and Bissi belle bath( sambhar rice version) . It also had 1 chapati, 2 sabzi( one dry called pallya, and other was a coconut based gravy), 4-5 fryms( triangle crisps) and a scoop of rawa sheera( sooji halwa) made in desi ghee. The food was very tasty and the sheera was the best part. Only 2 things I felt could be improved- one was the pallya- dry aloo chana sabzi which had a lot of garlic which was over powering. And the lemon rice also had more garlic oods which could have been avoided. Rest the taste and flavour profiles were bang on and truly amazing, mouth watering and yummy. I would recommend eating at this restaurant. :) Happy meal! Happy me! :)

A2B - One of the best places to have breakfast in Bengaluru !! Ghee Podi Idli and Sambar Vada (Dip) are our regular orders whenever we visit. Sambar is very tasty. And the dipped vada will be crispy outside and soft inside. Ghee Podi idli is filled with ghee, podi and crispy curry leaves. The way we eat button idli is a bit different which was taught by my girlfriend. Put the idli in a spoon, put the white chutney and red chutney - put the entire thing all at once in your mouth. You'll enjoy the 4-5 different flavours in your mouth with every bite. We had Ghee Podi Onion Uthappam which was crispy on the top. It was very tasty. You can try Ghee Roast Masala Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa, Rawa Masala Dosa, Kesari Bath. We end our breakfast/brunch with a Coffee with extra sugar and Horlicks with extra Horlicks. She likes to satisfy her inner child with this Horlicks. In short, eat anything and you'll like it for sure.

Worst A2B outlet to my experience in Bengaluru. At Bellandur outlet, the South Indian thali, apparently, had Paneer as a side item. However, the when we received the thali, to our shock, the the Paneer Sabji had "No paneer" in it. When we approached the counter, they mentioned casually that it's over and they can't provide. Clearly the kitchen operations are not in sync with billing. Had they mentioned that few items are un available at 2:30 pm, then we would have ordered something else. Request management to take notice. This has happened earlier as well. This casual approach in service from A2B is not expected. Also to reduce cost the sweet dish has also become of much cheaper quality and suddenly A2B South Thali is not worth paying ₹130, when other chains are providing more optiy, better quality and similar rates. Request management to take feedback. Not intending to stop visiting A2B for other items in menu.
