Customer, please consider negative reviews as well!
I recently visited Arogya Ahaara (Nammura) in JP Nagar, expecting a peaceful and quality dining experience, especially given their claims of organic food, hygiene, and traditional taste. Unfortunately, my experience was quite the opposite. Below is a detailed and honest review to help both future customers and the management understand the existing issues.
Arrogant and Unprofessional Staff Behavior
The staff often behave arrogantly and dismissively. Basic courtesy is missing. Rather than helping customers, they are usually engaged in arguments and internal fights — something you rarely expect from a food outlet that promotes itself as ‘healthy’ and ‘customer-first.’
Frequent Fights and Blame-Shifting Among Staff
Instead of working as a team, staff members seem more interested in blaming each other when something goes wrong. These loud arguments happen in front of customers, making the dining atmosphere stressful and unpleasant.
No Communication Between Billing Counter and Kitchen
The billing counter is usually unaware of which items are available or sold out. This miscommunication forces customers to return and exchange tokens, wasting time and creating unnecessary confusion.
The Token System is Slow and Mismanaged
Even simple tasks like handing over a token sometimes take 5+ minutes due to poor organization and inattentiveness. Staff are not focused on serving customers efficiently.
Negligence Towards Elderly Customers
I personally witnessed an elderly man who waited patiently for several minutes just to hand over a token for a chowchow bath. The staff ignored him while continuing their argument. When he finally managed to speak to the manager, he was rudely informed that the dish wasn’t available. The old man silently returned to the counter to change the token to upma and again waited. This lack of respect and empathy toward senior citizens is completely unacceptable and shameful.
False Advertising About Hygiene
They promote the use of world-class dishwashing and sterilization units with organic cleaning liquids. However, the reality is very different — I noticed they were using cheap soap oil, not organic liquids. This raises serious questions about their hygiene standards and transparency.
Online Orders – Strongly NOT Recommended
During my visit, I interacted with a few Swiggy and Zomato delivery partners who were waiting outside. Although their apps showed the food was “ready for pickup,” they told me that the food was not even prepared. One of them said this delay happens almost every day. This poor coordination creates frustration for both customers and delivery executives. If you’re planning to order online from this outlet, be prepared for delays and a bad experience.
Chutney Quality is Unbalanced
The chutney served with dosas is overloaded with lemon juice — replacing the usual tamarind base. It’s so sour at times that it overpowers the dish and becomes hard to eat. Moreover, the quantity is very limited and not enough to accompany the full dosa.
Lack of Kannada-Speaking Staff – A Disrespect to Local Culture
Despite the name Arogya Ahaara Nammura being in pure Kannada, it’s ironic and disappointing that most of the staff don't speak Kannada. For a restaurant claiming to represent "Nammura" (our hometown), one would expect local staff who can communicate with Kannada-speaking customers — especially elderly people who may not be comfortable in Hindi or English
Final Verdict:
While the brand Arogya Ahaara Nammura has potential and goodwill, the JP Nagar outlet clearly suffers from poor management, staff behavior issues, false hygiene claims, and a lack of professionalism. Until these issues are addressed, I strongly recommend avoiding both dine-in and online orders from this branch — especially if you value respectful service, clear communication, and consistency in...
Read moreWent for breakfast with 3 of my friends . The place has improved lot as there is segregation for take away and eating at the restaurant.ithe prices are very very economical and there is no compromise on the quality . The vada is crisp and idly is soft . Right amountbof spice in chutney and there will be no sambar. Masla dosa is right quantity and the melted butter flavour is too good . Only eye sore is the manhole in the adjacent road is overflowing through which you go for the takeaway and there sweet shops is just few feet away . This is terrible and I cant afford to have food with overflowing sewer next to you. This is not visible if you are in the restaurant middle , but conspicuous when you are at the adjacent road side
I went this morning 3rd Jan 2021 at 8.30 am for take away break fast. I entered to the restaurant and was informed that the take away has separate entrance by the side .
Why I have give 2 star , the service level is pathetic and taste of the food is not to the mark derailed below.
This take away sells every thing by weight and you are advised to carry your containers, they do have containers but nit good enough.
From the restaurant there is stairs which takes you down for the take away. At the entrance a person stnds and check your temperature and gives santizer. There are about 8 steps to climb and there is separate to go up and claiming down. As I went up , notices places were marked about 3 feet apart to stand and you need to buy your items and proceed for taking delivery . There were crowd at the delivery place , I noticed the cashier kept taking orders and people after billing were thronging at the delivery counter and literally people were rubbing shoulder to shoulder. There were 2 service persons and they are not able to cope up for delivery and add it to it there is a confusion of whether you have your vessels to carry or their container. People said to cashier to stop taking orders and she is not concerned about it. I ordered 300 gms of idly ( 5 pieces) udiin vada 250 gms ( 7 pieces) Mysore masala dosa 500 gms ( 4 nos) white kahara bath 250 gms . Chutney 250 gms sambar 500 gms . All it came to Rs 270. After billing there I went to delivery counter which is just next to cashier and there is chaos. The person took the bill and he asked me to give the containers after removing the lid , I waited for about 10 minutes, he said the containers I ahd given is not there for kharabath, again go to cashier and to get in the process she billed again for khara bath . The dosa I ordered never came as people who came after me left with dosa , but they brought their container since I ahd ordered with restriant box may be it took time . Net net the service quality is terrible. Coming to taste the smabar is hot water with tomato, onion and no lentil, masala dosa was not to the mark so also kharabath absolutely taste less The price is economical and hygiene standard intention is good but it is thrown to winds at the delivery counter , I may not go again...
