Bengaluru Coffee House — Restaurant in Bengaluru

This restaurant is too good in every aspects. Whether its quality of food, service or price, it is setting all new high standard. Located opposite SBM near Katriguppe Water Tank and it serves only south Indian cuisine. I thank Naveen Suresh for introducing this restaurant to me. I was completely unaware of this gem.

AMBIANCE: Ambiance is quite basic. Its a self service restaurant with both seating and stand-eat option. Premises is decently large to accommodate weekend crowd. Kitchen occupies 40% of the total premises and its hygienic. Since the restaurant is bit elevated, senior citizens might feel difficult to climb the stairs.

FOOD: My God! I just love everything they cook in here. I've tried almost all dishes and found every dishes to be awesome. Let me list them;Khali Dose: I just love the Khaali Dose from bottom of my heart. It is incredible. An uncommon balance between softness and crispiness will surely leave you in surprise. Very hard to compromise for 1 Dosa.Masal Dosa: It will be too good with great crispness. Though I feel dose of Aloo Palya is bit over, I just admire the Masal Dosa.Idli: It will be soft and fluffy. Very satisfying.Vada: Its another great destination to have great Vada in Banashankari. Ingredients are too good, right amount of crispness and awesomely tasty.Bisi Bele Bath: Occasionally once in a week they prepare Bisi Bele Bath, it will be too good. An authenticity taste with right amount of spices will definitely leave you thriving for more.Khara Bath: It is good. But spiciness is on bit lower side compared to other dishes.Chutney: Its fantastic! They use different types of chutney for idli, vada, khaali dose and for Masal Dosa. It will be too spicy and resembles Mangala Hotel. I always end up refilling chutney for 2-3 times per dish.Coffee: Though its name is "Coffee House", I didn't find any distinctive difference in the taste of their coffee. Its as good as any other similar restaurants.

So far I have visited 5-6 times and the quality is very consistent. These people are here to stay and give a tough competition to others in quality!

SERVICE: Service is kind of nice. It is bit difficult to get the bill from cashier as it will be always crowded. But once you get the bill, servers will deliver your order at the earliest. Since its new restaurant I have observed servers missing orders occasionally. But it can be improved.

EVERYTHING ELSE: Parking is pretty easy as the whole stretch is free, restaurant managers are very open for the suggestions, price is very nominal.

It's very tasty eat out place for a pure vegetarian. The various breakfast items like idli, masala dosa, Kali dosa, Vada, khara bath, kesari bath, shyavige bath, khara Pongal, sweet Pongal etc. served with sambar and chatni are very tasty. The hygiene is maintained in the entire serving counter and sitting area.

This is a Darshini like hotel and food is served on self service basis. The hot beverages like coffee, shunti/malenad kashaya, badam milk served are also of good quality. The tariff seems to be nominal for each item. Only short coming in this place is shortage of tables and chairs for comfortable sitting and having food. This is because the entire hotel area itself is small.

Customers can park their two wheelers adjacent foot path. To reach the hotel, one has to claimb some 10 stairs. However, 4 wheeler parking near this Hotel area is not possible. However, wheel chair option is not there to this hotel.

Quality has come down now a days. It is not like olden days. You can see the ignorance at all levels. No taste like olden days. Khali Dosa was Favourite here but now it is like any other Road Side Cart Vendor Dosa.It just fills your Tummy without any Taste. For a pouch of 0.50 paisa they charge 5.00 Rs. Just serving what they cook. Look like they do not want customers satisfaction and do not want them to come back. They are happy with the business what they are getting I guess. Hope they remember a Dine in hotel which they closed sometimes back because of Quality / Taste.
