BG's Poolside Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bengaluru

It's a pretty small place, tucked away in a corner of this small Marriott; but quite an intresting place nevertheless. You wouldn't expect this in a lounge of an chain restaurant; but the it's sufficiently quirky to make a mark as it's own stand alone place with some character.

While we have been there multiple times; the last visit yesterday is what I am reviewing the place for.

They have added some very fun cocktails, three of which we tried yesterday, two of which were clear winners while the third was resonable for me but might be quote liked by another audience.

The cooker quecker was a spicy tangy vodka based cocktail served in a pressure cooker with up turned beer in it. This was clearly one if the highlights of the menu.

The barbeque bash was whiskey with bbq sauce reduction and tasted like a nice heavy stout with whisky blended in. A nice savory drink with a hint of spice and sweetness worked quite so very well. This I would recommend highly too.

The amber mimosa was a whiskey blended with rose flavours and was a bit of miss; more pink than amber, with rose essence not doing enough to modulate sharpness of cheap ballantines. Even if it was to work; they would need to bump up the road making it a good feminine cocktail but probably not amber one at all.

The food stood out spectacularly, the galauti kebabs on flat breads were perfectly melt in the mouth delicate and crumbly with sharp but delicate spices.

The shotgun chicken was a pepper fry style; again excellent texture with solid large helping and bursting with flavours.

Went for Christmas Brunch and poolside today. The place was beautifully decorated, the moment we entered, the vibe was superb..a perfect ambience to click lot of good snaps! We went with a lot of expectations since our earlier outing at momos cafe was pretty good. But today was very disappointing. They didn't have much options in the buffet and the ones which were there were very sub - par. The dal makhani was oily than buttery, pulav was very ordinary. veg Manchurian wasnt cooked from inside. Chats were ok ok. We ordered pasta which took more than 45 mins to be served. We ended up cancelling half our order. The staff was very courteous though and did try to make everyone very comfortable. The biggest disappointment was the desserts. We were looking forward to some good quality desserts since food wasn't great. The dessert counter only looked all christmasy and pretty but wasnt tasty. We realised that when we saw the dessert counter absolutely deserted. Usually kids and folks hover around dessert counter and waiters are busy filling empty plates .but this scenario was quite different. They don't have a lot of space near poolside hence it was very claustrophobic. They had some music as well ,they were trying their best to make the atmosphere lovely but it ended up being just noisy! All in all, not worth the money charged for today's special...
