Brahmin's kitchen used to be the weekend hangout for my family cos we thought the food here was good and hygienic. Well our faith was shattered the first time we found hair in their chutney. After that next week it was in Bhel Puri, then it was in Dal fry. Today I had ordered a Masala dosa and lo and behold! there was a hair stuck in the dosa (could not have been mistaken for my hair falling in it..lol!)
We have escalated this issue many times to the management and their response was that people are wearing caps. However, people at the serving counter wear caps and not the ones inside who are cooking. Their people are not clean shaven and you can imagine what can happen with that.
Today, the owner "Mohan" was there and I escalated the issue to him again (showed him the hair in the dosa). The next thing he did was return my money. When I asked him about why he was returning the money, the next response was "What do you want to do now? Create a scene?" When people are in the food industry hygiene standards have to be so high. Forget the fact that the hygiene standards were flouted, I get yelled at and insulted.
Well, we were loyal customers who went back even after we found hair not once but three times, cos we thought they would take some time to change and that Management would address it since we had escalated the issue. But today when the so called "Management" reacted in such a cheap way, that was it. We are never going back and hopefully this review can help the mothers who bring their children to this place thinking the food is good. It may be tasty yes, but ask yourself if you want it with the...
Read moreIf you can travel miles to get to freshly brewed, good tasting filter coffee then coffee at Brahmin's kitchen is a must try. Otherwise, the food is just ordinary. Apt place for a pocket friendly, quick bite of south Indian snacks/breakfast if you are nearby. Visited the place on Saturday morning around 11am for breakfast and had ordered for masala dosa, upma, vada and coffee. While the food was ordinary, coffee is what I liked the most of all the items ordered, to the extent that I complimented the person who was preparing coffee. Seating arrangement is limited and is reserved primarily for senior citizens however they do have counter tables where one can stand and eat. Though the place is small, the management has tried its best to interior decorate the place with brass show pieces which looked good. What I also liked personally is that this place supports saving nature by not using plastic and encouraging customers to bring vessel/containers for parcels. Overall, its a quick bite restaurant with no frills, offers ordinary but quick breakfast with good filter coffee. 4 stars for its effort to save earth and ofcourse...
Read moreThe restaurant is over-rated!! Food quality is ok. Thali meal is the usual one: sambhar, rasam, veg kurma, poriyal (thoran), chutney, pappadum, rice, curd rice, puri, payasam, but the charge is a bit high at ₹110/- compared to similar thali in similar restaurants, which sell between ₹70-80. Puris served were absolutely cold. May have been made an hour before and kept.
Very small place. Sitting comfort is not there, because chairs and tables are very old, probably bought second hand from a school. Tables have the deep slots meant to keep stationery. Chairs are small and chair backs are low ( meant for kids). They don’t run the wall fans either (even in this summer heat). No ceiling fans. So there are a lot of flies hovering around. Have to keep shooing them off with one hand while eating. Am wondering if there are flies in the kitchen too, sitting on food items. To conclude: just ok food highly priced, not a comfortable...
