CakeZone — Restaurant in Bengaluru

I had placed an order on sept 25 , 2017 where the delivery was on time and cake great ( fresh) so went with that experience to order another one for today October 6.

Went online on 5th October evening and placed an order , chose the delivery time of 5 to 8 pm and assumed all will be well. Added comments requesting a 7 pm delivery while placing the order online

October 6th I call proactively at 3 or 4 pm to ensure everything is ok cause this is a birthday cake that was a part of another plan for the family. The guy who answers the call at the customer service number rudely ( attitude filled on all open ports) points out that the chosen option (free) is 5 to 8 pm and that’s when your will get it and hangs up.

Assuming that it will get delivered, I leave for the location at 7.00 pm and yet no email confirmation or calls to check for address. Called them again proactively and after a loooong hold time of all our customer service advisors are busy get a confirmation that cake is out for delivery. This is reflected on the email I get at 7.10 p.m.

At 8.01 p.m. I get a call from the delivery boy saying that he is on the way to the delivery location and due to heavy rain and traffic will be delayed by half an hour. I ask him where has it been raining so heavily and which is the area, this stumps him for many moments and he comes up with the name of Lalbagh Road.

I from my resident location travelled to the delivery location passing all his described routes and made it well in time without encountering rain or traffic ... so the guy then backs off and says I am driving and will call you back....

Reaching the delivery location, I make several calls to the delivery boy who doesn’t answer , try calling the call center where phones get answered with the same odds of making it into kbc....no success ....

At 8.40 pm, I give up and we go on to the dinner we had in mind for the family.... at 8.51 the delivery guy calls and says I will be there in 2 minutes.... note I sent an email to support and a message to the delivery boy that if the cake can’t make it to the destination by 8.40, there will be no one there to collect it...

This guy expects me to turn around after 12 minutes of driving and come back to meet him and collect the delivery to which I responded I’m sorry ... I waited , I called several times and have left the delivery address. I can’t do anything about his delays especially when he didn’t bother answering my 4 to 8 follow up calls and more importantly be honest about the duration in the first place...

I expect a full refund which they say is being looked into but I am sure that these guys treat the 5 to 8 p.m (free delivery) option as the last priority in their list...

I liked them on the first go but this experience today pissed me off to no end.... even if their cakes are good they lost one long term customer simply because of the attitude their staff throws on the phone and more importantly lies ( rain and traffic) about it.....

If anyone has to buy, my recommendation is to collect in person vs depend on these guys who take the customers schedules and plans for...

Chocolate Truffle Pastry from @cakezonedelivery: Not kidding when I say this is one of the best truffle pastries I've ever had! Definitely my favourite dessert from Cakezone, this cake is super soft and moist and enhanced with the most perfect chocolate flavour you can get.
