On July 2, 2023, my family and I visited the restaurant for lunch. Unfortunately, our experience was discriminating and insulting. The ambiance was mediocre, and the hygiene standards were not up to par.
Upon arrival, we had to wait for a considerable amount of time before a waiter attended to us to take our order. The waiter's behavior was unprofessional and rude, rushing us to place our order quickly or wait for his return. Feeling uncomfortable, we hastily finalized our order, requesting a fish meal.
The food took a long time to arrive, and to our disappointment, none of the items on the menu looked like the pictures. When we requested papad, the waiter brought it to us with his bare hands, which was unhygienic.
As we were having our meal, we needed a second serving of rice, but there were no staff members around to assist us. After patiently waiting, we finally spotted our waiter and asked for the rice. However, he rudely told us to wait and attended to other tables first, even those who had arrived after us. Eventually, we had to go into the kitchen ourselves to find someone to serve us rice, which was quite unsettling.
When we questioned the delay and the poor manner of service, the waiter responded disrespectfully, suggesting that we leave if we were not willing to pay. Seeking a resolution, we asked to speak with the restaurant's owners or management, but the supervisor we approached on the ground floor refused to allow us access.
The supervisor dismissed our concerns, attributing them to staffing issues and showed reluctance to address the staff's behavior. Moreover, the waiter in the attached picture openly refused to apologize and walked away. The man claiming to be the owner also displayed a dismissive attitude and even yelled at us for questioning his ownership.
Our experience was humiliating and disheartening. The overall quality of the food, the hygiene, ambiance, and service standards were unsatisfactory. It appeared that preference was given to Malayalees, and we felt discriminated against for not being part of that community.
In conclusion, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those who are not Malayalees. The service we received was unprofessional and discriminatory, and the overall dining experience was unpleasant. We hope that the management takes these issues seriously and improves their standards for all customers, irrespective of their...
Read moreThis is a true review I don't have anything personal with this restaurant. I was a regular customer to this restaurant. I have heard the stewards, waiters and even few customers grieving on the manager for the mismanagement and unruly behaviour of him sometimes. Once I had ordered for the general meals. The guy served the sambhar and then I saw a mid sized cockroach lying on the rice. So it was clear that the cockroach was lying in the Sambhar bucket. I showed this to the waiter and the guy was completely shocked and out of words. I was about to leave and he requested for new meals I said no need I will rather leave. Still he insisted so I thought to go for chicken biryani. The worst part guys instead of throwing that bucket of Sambhar they were kept on serving to other customers. After having the biryani I went towards the wash room there again I saw few cockroaches roaming here and there. So While leaving I informed the manager about the cockroach mess and told him to get the pest control done. It was cockroach all over. He instead of apologizing was telling about customers complaining on bad service. The worst guy I have seen in my life. So guys enjoy cockroach Sambhar at your...
Read moreI've been a frequent visitor to this place for about 6 years. What looked like a small ticket counter for booking bus tickets is now turned into a full fledged restaurant tickling the tastebuds for a whole lot of coastal cuisines.. the owner is a humble gentle man taking his time out in suggesting the chef special for new customers. Whole lot of food like appam, stew, puttu, Paratha, babgada/aila fry, fish fry, karimeen/Pollichathu, fish biriyani, prawns and squids are among the delicacy. To make it simple it's a simple Kerala restaurant with a Moto to serve authentic Kerala food. The food itself is light no Matter what you eat both veg/ non veg doesn't feel heavy. I would suggest people try the brown rice considering the health benefits while ordering meals. The simple small serve of Moru Curry or seasoned curds along with the meals is soothing to the tummy. Chicken, mutton varieties are served n is as good as the sea food. Try the snack Pazham pori/deep fried banana n will not...
