Very Disappointing Experience

The service at the California Burrito RR Nagar outlet was really bad. The staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing and took a very long time with everything. My order was messed up more than once, and no one seemed to care.

Not going back. Definitely not worth it.

I've been a regular customer at California Burrito across various outlets, including Indra Nagar, JP Nagar, RR Nagar, and Basavanagudi, and have usually appreciated the consistency - not 100% though. My recent experience at the RR Nagar outlet was disappointing. My order took an unusually long time for delivery, and when I called the listed number, I was routed to a call center instead of the restaurant. The restaurant staff who joined the call seemed unfamiliar with the local language, which, while not the main issue, added to the communication challenge, even English with them seemed like an alien language. More importantly, there was a lack of empathy regarding my situation—the order wasn’t ready, and even though the Swiggy delivery person was at the restaurant for almost 40 minutes, the team falsely claimed the order had been handed over. The delivery agent kept confirming it was still pending. Overall, the service was unsatisfactory, and I had to wait almost two hours without food. I strongly suggest you sensitize your staff to such situations to improve...

Wow, what a “celebration,” California Burrito! Everything at ₹100, huh? But wait—there's a catch (of course). You have to dine in only. Oh, and be prepared to stand in line for hours. Because who doesn’t love waiting endlessly just to save a few bucks, right?

And the cherry on top? There’s absolutely no clarity on whether this “offer” is for coupon holders or for everyone. Are we all supposed to just gamble on that detail? Brilliant strategy. Nothing says “we value our customers” like confusion and chaos.

If your goal was to create long lines, irritated customers, and social media backlash, congratulations—you’ve nailed it. Maybe next time, focus less on the hype and more on logistics and communication. After all, misleading promotions are a great way to celebrate a milestone... if you're aiming for a PR...

California Burrito opened their latest outlet on the ground floor of Gopalan Arcade Mall, Mysore Road on 15th August, 2023. The staff are polite and welcoming. Since the prices are reasonable here, California Burrito would be a tough competitor to Taco Bell, which is located just opposite to this outlet.

The outlet is nicely designed with various seating options, including high chairs. They offer Tacos of two kinds - Soft and Crunchy. We tried the 7 Layer Veg Taco and it was quite delicious. They run offers on Tuesdays. Paid parking space is available in the basement...
