It was on the Election day, 26th of April - 24. Me and my spouse casted our votes by around 5 PM and we were pretty hungry as we hadn't had our lunch in the afternoon. So thought we'll venture out for early dinner and have some sea food. We wanted to visit this place for a very long time and decided to dine at De Fish Restaurant. We reached the restaurant by around 7:30 and the crowd was very thin to our luck. We order plenty of food and each and every dish that we ordered tasted so very good. To be frank, we were not sure how good the food would taste. But we were completely taken aback after we tasted the first dish we had ordered. The Anjal Green Masala Fry. It was immaculate. The masala was a perfect balance of all the spices and the fish itself was fresh and tasted really delicious. Then, we ordered the Kane Tawa Fry and again it blew us out completely. The fish was roasted to perfection and that red masala was amazing. The next dish we ordered was the Squid Ghee Roast. Here, my wife was a bit sceptical to try it. But I said, let's give it a shot and I was not at all wrong. The combination of that perfectly cooked squid with the Ghee Roast masala was outstanding. It was so delicious that we ordered Appam to try along with it. It was an amazing combination. This is a must combination try if say. Next, we ordered the White Pomfret Tawa Fry and it tasted delicious as well. Then, we ordered Chicken Sukka with Neer Dosae. This is a ever green combination and it didn't let us down again. The combination was spot on. Lastly, we ordered a small bowl of white rice and a cup of fish curry. The fish curry was avarage. Probably the Fish Pulimunchi curry would taste better. Overall, it was an amazing seafood dinner we had in a very long time. Highly recommended for all the sea food...
Read moreDe Fish truly lives up to its name by serving authentic Kerala-style seafood meals. Their fish thali, Kerala fish curry meals, and a variety of biryanisâfeaturing mutton, chicken, and prawnsâare absolutely delightful.
I'm someone who usually avoids ordering fish from restaurants, as itâs hard to find places that serve truly fresh seafood. As Keralites, we grow up recognizing the aroma of fresh fish curry, and I must say, every dish we ordered here exceeded my expectations.
We tried Neymeen Fry (Seer Fish Fry), Kanava Roast (Squid Roast), Chemmeen Curry (Prawns Curry), Njandu Chilli Paste (Crab Chilli Paste), and more. The flavors were rich and truly reminded me of home.
Interestingly, even my kidsâwho were raised in Bangalore and are usually not fans of seafoodâenjoyed the Mutton Biryani and Chicken Biryani. As for the Prawns Biryani and Fish Biryani, they were on another level of deliciousness.
The ambience is calm and pleasant. Despite arriving quite late for lunch around 3:45 PM, the place was nearly full, which speaks volumes about its popularity.
If youâre in Bangalore and craving fresh, authentic Kerala-style seafood, De Fish is a place...
Read moreMy mom loves sea food so I took her to this restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. This was our first time here and I can't explain how bad our experience was. Firstly, the staff is super ignorant of the orders and to top it all, the manager doesn't give a damn about the customers. Known customers are treated differently though. We had ordered a veg thali alongside Fish fry, prawns and lime soda. They took more than 40 minutes to get the veg thali and about 20 minutes later we were served with fish and prawns. Upon asking multiple times, they served us lime soda. Until then we were almost done with our lunch. They didn't bother asking us if we needed more rice, while we noticed other tables were served appropriately. Talking about the food- it was below average, the highlight of the menu is sea food, sadly, the fish was loaded with masala which made it taste bitter. I don't usually write reviews but this one experience left us disappointed. I am never going back...
