Nice Restaurant. My son had visited here 2 yrs back on Independence Day. He wished to have Prawns travelling all the way for abt 3 hrs, but found that it was over at 8.30 pm itself.
Good & Bad experiences are -
BAD experience & a learning: Prawn was over around 8.30pm only. So, cal & enquire before hand abt the availability of such specific dish if needed. Non-veg dishes most tastes good when u squeeze lemon jus before having them.. So, when i asked for the lemon, they did serve us but very smal pieces of small sized lemon. Then again i had to ask them for it.. The taste of Bamboo Mutton Biryani (cooked in a bamboo) was jus okay, did not get a wow feel (unlike mughal type by taste). So not that good if u are a Mutton Biryani lover here. Anyways, pieces were well cooked though. Quantity wise & price, if you order a soup & ask to make that one by two, you wil end up paying more, than what you regularly pay for 1 Soup; B'coz they claim that the quantity of one by two wil be 3/4th bowl each, instead of half bowl.
GOOD experience & memories: This is a must visit place if you belong to Coastal or if you love Coastal food.. This is a nice Mangalore cuisine restaurant, serving coastal delicacies. As the name itself says 'Bamboo restaurant'; this is a small lovely restaurant which is unique of its kind, serving food cooked in Bamboo & serves Bamboo cuisine as well. Lovely ambience (pictures attached). Waiters are polite & good. The owner guy himself came to take our order, which was nice indeed. No Buffet served here. You jus have to place order of ur choice (A-la-carte). For the price, you get a fair quantity of food, which u wont regret with quatity wise. Personally, we tasted some Fish, Mutton, Chicken dishes here namely: Bamboo Mutton Biryani (One full) (Rs. 340), Serves abt 3 people after having starters. Al Faham (half) Rs. 200, 4 pieces; was awesome to taste. Fish Cooked in Banana leaf Rs. 240 (taste nice & spicy) Bamboo Shoot Soup (One by two) Rs.120 (you get to eat Bamboo pieces as well in it) Water bottle 1...

That was a simple sentence review meant for them. Those who still think "want to try" can go. Its your freedom.
I went there around 2pm. It was very Rushy and people were standing outside of the restaurant with impatience and starving stomachs for around an hour to get a seat. Maybe because being Sunday. Some were even quarrelling with the guy at the front door for controlling entry. When we reached at door through the line only we knew that we were supposed to give them our name first and have to wait a half hour more for getting seat. Did that again to know how it is.
They don't have chairs or dining facilities for couple. So either you should go with minimum 4 members, otherwise you should share your table with other couples who want or don't want to sit with you. You have no other options.
Food is pricey. May be they charge for the man management too I think...... Kidding. Most of the staff were from North East India, but they seemed experienced or practiced well at their services.
The quality of the food is average and the quantity is a bit bigger or higher. Because if you order a biriyani, at least two of you can have tummy full. But about quality I didn't feel that much hipe which people were talking outside. Felt like a simple hyderabad biriyani filled in bamboo and serving hot. Couldn't find anything special in that.
There was no parking available.
Atmosphere was Rushy and noisy.
Service was excellent.
Still you may be thinking why this guy gives less stars? Isn't it?
I recommend economic foods for common people. Having a tummy full meal for a Rs 300 may be economical, but it was 1300. That was something like laxurios as per my evaluations. Different personalities may have vary their opinion. But, having such a lunch is not meant for daily life of me.
