I recently attended the New Year's party at "Don't Tell Mama" in HSR, Bangalore, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. While the pricing was reasonable, the event itself left much to be desired.
Upon arrival, it became evident that the venue was poorly planned. There was an extreme lack of seating space, and no proper arrangements were made for enjoying the food that was provided. While I understand that clubbing is all about dancing and enjoying the night, it’s equally important to have a place to sit and rest, especially when feeling tired or woozy.
A major concern was the absence of secure spaces to keep drinks or enjoy food. The limited tables available couldn’t be trusted for leaving drinks, raising serious security concerns. Adding to the chaos, the main course section was set up separately, but since the rooftop party lacked seating, people occupied the fourth-floor dining area indefinitely, leaving no room for others to sit and have dinner.
To make matters worse, the event organization was chaotic. Midway through the party, they decided to set up barricades on the dance floor, which seemed unnecessary and poorly executed. The iron rods used for the barricades were left unsecured on the floor, posing a serious tripping hazard. I witnessed several people stumble over them, and one person accidentally kicked a rod onto my foot. Thankfully, I was wearing shoes, or it could have resulted in an injury.
The overcrowding and lack of proper space also raised significant safety concerns. The disorganized setup, combined with the sheer number of people, made the experience stressful and unenjoyable. Ultimately, I decided to leave the venue before midnight, as the environment felt unsafe and far from what I had hoped for a New Year’s celebration.
For someone who had planned ahead and booked in advance for what should have been a memorable evening, this was a deeply disappointing experience. I hope the organizers take this feedback seriously and improve their planning and safety measures...
Read moreWe ordered Tomato Soup, Cheese Garlic Bread, Jalapeno Cheese Bullets, Mutton Pepper Fry, Madira Ka Ghost, Grilled Fish and Margherita Pizza among other things. Most of the items were good with a special shoutout to Jalapeno Cheese Bullets which were simply yum, loaded with cheese and Grilled Fish - so soft and melt in the mouth types. Garlic Bread & Tomato Soup were disappointing because they tasted funny. Soup was a little bland and without proper flavours. The place is otherwise kind of good with reasonable service experience but what ticked me off is the way the hostess started giving 'Disclaimer of 7.5% service charges' as if that's the most important thing. This kind of annoyed me & my wife because: It's unfair to add a separate 'service charge' on top of the food & beverage cost which is honestly already reasonably high. Again high but still reasonable. I don't think many users will mind if they name in another 7-10% charges' in the menu listed price itself. We are ardent foodies and come to every new place with a lot of excitement and in general to have a good time and I don't think the disclaimer around service charge is the first thing we want to hear before even being seated by the hostess. It was as is, go away if you are 'not Ok' with the extra charges. I understand they are doing this probably because they received a lot of flak around the unfair charges in the final bill but it's still straight unpleasant for most people to hear this when they walk into the place! I hope the owners or people who manage the place make note of such feedback and eliminate unnecessary add-on charges. Please include all fees within the menu price and let people decide if it's fair pricing or NO but most folks just don't like service charges. P.S: I'm not expecting a response or explanation from the management. It's our honest opinion from our visit earlier in the day. Not a bad place but has don't think we'll visit again unless you change your policies around service charges. The rest is your...
Read moreWent here last week for dinner with Cuz and had a great time. The ambiance is lovely – a cozy rooftop setting with a relaxed vibe. It was quiet from 6 to 8 PM, but the crowd picked up later. The music selection was really good and added to the overall experience.
We ordered a mix of starters:
1.Crispy Corn – 4/5 Crispy and tasty, but a bit too salty.
Herbs & Cheese Loaded Chicken Nachos -3/5 Not the best. It lacked sour cream and was served in a metal mesh tray, which made it hard to share. The flavor was average.
3.Peri Peri Fries – 5/5 Perfectly seasoned and crispy.
4.Peri Peri Crispy Fried Baby Corn – 5/5 One of the best dishes of the night – super crunchy and flavorful. A must-try.
5.Jamaican Jerk Chicken Popcorn – 5/5 Delicious, crunchy, and full of flavor. Another must-try.
Paneer Manchurian – 5/5 Really good – soft paneer with bold, well-balanced flavors.
Chilli Chicken – 4/5 Decent, but lacked a spicy kick.
Farmhouse Pizza – 3/5 Bland and forgettable. Needs more flavor and better toppings.
For drinks, we ordered a KF tower, Long Island, and Fully Loaded. The Long Island didn’t really impress, but the rest were fine.
Overall: A great place to unwind. The rooftop ambiance, good music, and cozy setup make it perfect for an evening out. While a couple of dishes could be better, most of what we tried was really good. Would definitely visit again and recommend it for casual hangouts or...
