DVG Benne Dosa — Restaurant in Bengaluru

You'll get nothing but disappointment if you visit this place. I wonder how this restaurant managed to get 4+ stars with such pathetic service and poor quality food. People who have tasted real Davangere Benne Dose would never rate this place above 2 stars.

The service is very very poor. I waited for more than 25 Mins just to get a pair of dosa. Tables were not cleaned, there were more than 8 left over plates on the table and you need to move them by yourself to make space for your plate.

The atmosphere is unhygienic. The cook cleans the dirt and debris fallen around the stove in the same spatula used for cooking dosa and doesn't even clean it properly before using the same. The serving area was not clean enough and the serving staff used to touch cleaning cloth and then touch the food without washing the hands. Totally unacceptable.

I ordered Benne Khaali Dose and the taste was below average. Dosa tasted bland, the texture of butter was missing and the chutney was too watery. The cook put a lot of soda into the dosa batter in front of me without even a bit of hesitation. Which resulted in triggering gastritis in me later that evening. Really disappointed by the quality of food.

They do accept all kinds of digital payments including cards. Parking a two wheeler on the street would be easier than a four wheeler.

Located in Amarjyothi Layout, along the IRR in Domlur, the place serves Davanagere style dosa and other items. They have various types of Benne Dosa, Idli, Paddu along with Vada and Bajji. They have some snack items as well during evening times. Tea and coffee is also available. All the items are served in copper utensils. Prices are slightly high compared to the quantity, but I guess that's what you pay for quality products. Place looks clean and the taste is also good. They serve all items with chutney, dry or normal, depending upon the item. Place is busy during morning hours and there is a small place to sit for 3-4 pax and two tables to stand and eat for about 5-6 pax. I would prefer to give negative rating instead of 1 if I had option. This is the worst I had seen in my life. I went here by seeing the positive reviews which are all fake. People don't have sense what to encourage and what not. That's not even a fast food, road side tiffin centers are better than this. It's a kind of take away but those guys says you can stand on road and have. And the cleanliness is awful. The guy who prepare dosa is not even wearing mask and he is so ugly.. guess he might have not bathed for a month atleast. The response from them was pathetic.. their attitude is on peaks as if they are 5 star restaurants. Better avoid this else go eat and die by seeing...
