Hello! I worked and lived at the hotel for about a month and here is an insider review, skewed in favour of guests.
COUPLE-FRIENDLY For reasons I cannot discuss here, local law-enforcement is extremely unlikely to bother MAK or any of its residents. (If you do encounter cops on its premises, it is probably because they’ve crashed in for the night!) To all those apprehensive callers I had to assure, I just want to reinstate that the hotel is a perfectly safe nest for lovebirds and no one will either quiz, harass or judge you in any way during your stay.
DISCOUNTS & RATES Rates are surprisingly flexible; even more, if it has been a slow week! Call ahead and book directly. Online hotel-booking platforms earn ₹ 500-800 as commission; the MAK would rather lose that money to customers than on the web! If you have a modest budget, do tell and you’d be offered more economical choices! If your employer is paying for your accommodation, mention this right away; the hotel lingo is BTC or Bill to Company. If you need a ride from the airport, request a pickup. (They’d think you’re a big fish and try to reel you in.)
If you cannot get them to yield (or asked to proceed with your booking online), vacant rooms are scarce. Nevertheless, here’s a few things you can try:
Specifically ask if they “own a parking lot”; enquire if you can order à la carte at the restaurant. These questions will get them on a sticky wicket and give you leverage. The manager will warm up to you if he feels you come from money; he can also find intimidating, erudition, social position, rank, authority… people he considers beyond his league. The manager has a knight in shining armor trait. So, if you are a lady, you can expect him to go out of his way to help, even if you do not necessarily bring any business! Checking in early or checking out late attracts charges, but this is often overlooked when business is dull and rooms are vacant anyways. (With politeness and good behaviour, you can drag an elephant with a hair.) If you are negotiating during check-out, try trading in a favourable review online; point out if you had been a single occupant, or how brief your stay was; bring up inconveniences you reported that were not addressed. You can also throw them off guard asking...
Read moreWe opted for this hotel after reading the review about the view from the hotel room. We booked for 2 nights stay. We may feel doubtful seeing the entrance of the hotel, whether it’s a good hotel or not, but once you enter inside the rooms, your doubts will be cleared. It could be the best hotel with good rooms you can find nearby with this budget. ||Room was spacious, with more than enough compartments to store your belongings. The seat arrangement near the window with the Golf View is what we liked most. There is sufficient day light in the room which is again a good if you planning to spent time inside the room. Bathroom was neat, but was not clean enough. There were no toiletries available in the bathroom and also no tea cups and spoons for making tea. The staff was in a hurry to accommodate us when were there to check in and in the haste they could have missed to provide those items. Anyways the courteous enough to provide us with the tea cups immediately on request. ||Check in and checkout process was fast. We did not have food from their restaurant as there were many restaurants at walking distance from this place. The hotel does not have on premises parking facility, but since it’s situated at the end of the lane, couple of cars can be parked along road comfortably. It’s good hotels, but lacks proper management. If you have read previous reviews like Lift not working, dull colored bath towels, these issues still exists and have not taken enough care to resolve these issues till now. It’s really a good property, if managed well it can be an excellent one. The tea kettle cover is not there, and it should have been replaced. Also it will be great if you could replace blanket with quilt or comforter .These issues may seem to be minor, but guests value it a lot. Apart from this it’s very good hotel for stay and we really enjoyed our stay.||Hope to see a better MAK...
