We went for a food tasting event for a larger event we have in a week's time. Table was booked at 8p on a weekday and we arrived 5 mins early. Got seated and waited.. Waited.. 20 mins passed, no one even came to check or even ask if we needed something to drink. Finally, called the waiter and told him - another 10 mins passed and nothing.
Finally, found the guy in charge of the restaurant and gave him a piece of mind! Then slowly things came. Wonder why a virgin mojito (the first item we had) would have taken 30-40 mins to arrive - no wonder the restaurant is crowded due to this lack of service!
Coming to the food, we tasted the following: food tasting, Kindly find below the food tasting session menu for tomorrow’s dinner :-
o Virgin Mojito - was good and properly iced.
o Mushroom Soup - tasted nice but it was the cream version with no mushroom bits except cilantro on top.
o Khasta Bhindi - nice and crispy.
Baby corn and Mushroom Au Gratin - nicely done and tasted very well.
o Murg Khas Pudina - Huge let done. Had a very distinctive fish flavor which 2 of us noticed. The chef completely denied using any fish ingredient. I wonder if it was something to do with not properly cleaning the cooking vessel then!
o Mutton Biryani - Tasted fine. A little on the non-spicy side.
o Vegetable Pulao - Rice was super dry in a consistency close to fried rice.
o Kulcha - The most hardest I have had till date. Not good. We thought it might have been due to being left in table for long and ordered again, even the hot ones were hard.
o Phulka - nice and soft.
o Cream Caramel - very subtle flavoring and tasted good.
All in all, was ok experience but the service or lack of it was bad.
Would recommend to book a table in advance as it seemed quite full and was also told that the restaurant is fully booked for...
Read moreDowngrading my earlier rating due to my poor experience on my second visit. The Manager had setup a table outside, in a position where the cooler breeze barely reached. We suggest that the Manager sit with his team in the place for two hours and absorb the heat and feel what his guests went through. Hospitality includes comfort and and do not set tables at places which are unusually warm and you cannot cool adequately using the means available to you. This made our experience pathetic. ( And we had made advance reservation the evening before). Suggest the GM here to review all table arrangements and ensure that guests are comfortable wherever tables are placed.
We visited this place for Sunday lunch. The ambience with lovely foot tapping music was just right and set the mood.
The wide range of starters and taste was good. Chicken and fish starters were well cooked. Veg starters were awesome. The chats were wonderful- the alu tikkis had that crisp outer layer and salt and chat masala and chat syrups were in the right proportion. The veg momos were cooked just right and the chutney they served along was hot and sweet, as it ought to be. Appams were wonderful and the railway mutton curry, Stew that athey served with the Stew were rightly done. Dessert section was humongous with Indian sweets like Jalebis, Kulfi, Rasmalai, Kaala Jam and a host of western options like pastries, mousses, cakes, tarts.
Overall a lovely experience and hats off to the Chef and the team to pull off this combination of great tasting food that kept coming despite the packed to the capacity...
Read moreA Sunday brunch at Limelight is for sure a green affair.. !! Gives you the feels of good old lush & green Bangalore back in the 90’s! The greenery sure helps you relax & enjoy their delish spread which is value for money. The Sunday brunch has an extensive spread with lots of space for the kids to run around & have their bit of fun. The patio setting is so peaceful so we opted for it. They also have indoor seating if you prefer the Air-con. There are 2 Options for the brunch, with & without liquor.
They have live music, I had loads of fun as it was really brilliant with songs Most of us can sing along to😀!!
Courteous staff! They have 5 live counters for the starters. I got myself a red wine Sangria & started off with some Of the chats ( aloo tikki chaat & dahi papdi chaat were my fav) & dim sums, the margarita pizza was perfect 😀.
There is a salad counter as well. Also, the Lebanese counter is yum.. loved the hummus & baba ghanoush.
Main course spread is also quite extensive, but after the amazing starters I did not try much from the mains, I did get a bite of the mutton Biryani 😋😋. The main course section, has a the live appam counter too.
The dessert counter has cake pops, muffins, cupcakes, Indian sweets, custard etc.( don’t miss the toffee chocolate tart & flan 🍮 if it’s in the menu that day, both are to die for ).
In all it’s a good brunch in an amazing setting with lots of space between tables so you have privacy to your...
