While we as a family decided to not to step out for a dine-in in celebration for our anniversary, we decided to order-in from a great set of new places that have been trending and popular in Namma Bengaluru.
When the cuisine was finalised the first name came to my mind was Ghee & Turmeric, a cloud kitchen quiet active in Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, and more recently in Bengaluru.
A place promised authentic North Indian flavours that are superior with honest ingredients cooked in pure ghee.
There was a lot of hype around the brand so we were excited to try the butter chicken with their flaky Paratha, and a portion of chicken tikka.
The packaging was bright and impeccable, absolutely no spills, delivered perfectly by the Swiggy partner.
The chicken tikka was very well flavoured, wonderfully seasoned, with a few pieces more tangy than the other. The 8 pieces promised were a mix of medium to small pieces, with the meat a little too dry than the tender juicy meat promised, and one piece was a little under. The garlic Chutney, mint chutney and freshly cut onions with a lemon wedge was definitely a basic yet a good addition. At ₹399 I expected a little more than what I had been delivered.
The Aam Panna was a refreshing and a delicious version that we all enjoyed.
On the mains, the garlic Paratha was packed in a silver foil envelope, that didn’t help much to keep it warm when it arrived. It was as promised a very flaky garlic Paratha, went decently well with the butter chicken.
The butter chicken was definitely delicious, with 5-6 small pieces in a delicious medley of fabulous flavours. But it wasn’t the creamy rich version of gravy that I am used to, it was more like a Kadhai / Bhuna chicken type of semi gravy, with a floating layer of what I presumed to be ghee, but didn’t get much of that shudh ghee flavour. At ₹329 it was a good one to pair with some Indian breads or rice.
Well now, you might wonder why I am being so critical? With all the hype on social media I ended up trusting a brand to deliver a fabulous meal for a family celebration. While I was happy with the flavours, family was absolutely not satisfied with the value delivered, it was less than what we had expected it to be, for a celebration meal.
I felt at the end that maybe I have probably ended up paying for the superbly branded packaging and the brilliant marketing campaign than for the quality & taste of food as the brand promised, especially when the pricing is premium. The brand has definitely overcommitted and under delivered, a good meal that unfortunately left me a little...

Made a huge mistake by ordering from this highly over priced restaurant. Out of curiosity (seeing the price & zomato rating) ordered for the first time from this restaurant. Ordered regular Paneer Butter Masala (PBM) , Veg Biryani (VB). As it was for the first time didnt try any complicated dishes. To my surprise, the PBM was completely liquid like water and also had no taste at all. Had PBM in several restaurants.... since many years.... small restaurant (Priced @ 200)... medium (Priced @ 350 - 400) .....but never had experienced this kind of taste for a regular PBM which is very ... very common. "Priced at Rs. 649". VB was very moist due to which it did not taste good. Quantity of VB was less compared to the container it was in and priced at. "Priced at Rs. 300".

Read morePATHETIC and LIARS I ordered two Navratri Vrat Thalis via zomato, and paid for two Thalis. The restaurant called me to say that they only have one thali left and can only send one and they shall issue refund. As it was my fast, I just asked them to send one thali. I made a quick video when the food arrived as proof that I only received one thali. Later I spoke to a tomato agent and he told me that the restaurant will call me and get the refund issued. Since I didn't receive any call, I spoke with Tomato and they told me that the restaurant send the complete delivery and they can't help me.
I can't believe that the restaurant owner lied for a mere Rs. 400. PATHETIC, LIARS, HARRASING THE...
