Giselle Resto Cafe — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Hidden away in a small layout off Kammanahalli, this is a DEFINITE MUST VISIT place. They have an awesome indoor ambience with some really nice music in the background and an equally soothing outdoor garden seating area. A menu that has names with a twist, they serve really delicious and yummy food that is served pretty quick. I am surely visiting this place again.

This place might be a little hard to find as it is tucked in a small layout off Kammanahalli. Parking might be a problem given its location, so you might want to park on the adjacent main road as they do not have Valet parking. I visited this place with a couple of friends on a weekday afternoon for lunch and found it empty. That was expected given it was a Monday and the location as well.

The place is quite welcoming with nice interiors and decor. They had a Christmas themed decor around the place making it look all the more beautiful. The music was good and complementing the place well. They also have an outdoor "garden" seating area, which I instantly fell in love with. It has such a soothing effect on you. Whether you are hanging out with your friends or a more private meal, this place can work its magic.

Their menu is pretty interesting with not-so-regular and funny names for each of their dishes. If the description isnt helping you, the staff certainly can. The order was taken pretty quickly and the service was equally quick. IMPRESSIVE.

We ordered quite a few dishes. All the dishes were presented nicely doing complete justice to the actual taste of the dish.

The mushroom sauce was just a tad bitter, otherwise all the dishes tasted really delicious. Amongst all of them, the ones that stood out were:

Habibi - The hummus was just out of the world which was served with some soft pita bread

Senriato Giselle was another favorite of ours. The herbed rice was rich in flavor and the fries were tasty as well. They tasted like the hand-cut fresh fries and not the frozen ones

Mashed Potato served with the steak was really smooth and unlike the regular ones

Leaning Tower of Waffles - This was undoubtedly the dish of the day. We were happy we finalised on this dessert as compared to others. The only negative here was, it took almost 20 minutes to serve this dish (while all the other dishes were served in almost a jiffy). But the wait was completely worth it.

Undoubtedly, it's a beautiful place. It's a nice warm place tucked into a corner with lovely lights and plants. However, with the greenery come plenty of mosquitoes. I had to remind the server twice to get the mosquito repellent coil so that I don't get eaten alive. The server was very vague and pretty much didn't know anything about anything. He argued with us for a full 5 minutes because we wouldn't tell him which pasta we wanted with our ravioli. He point-blank refused to believe that ravioli is the pasta. We were not even offered water when we sat down. And for some weird reason, they've locked their door from outside. We have to ring the bell for them to come and unlock the door. We ordered a bhai ka soda, peanut butter milkshake, vegetarian nachos, garlic cheese focaccia, a very veggie pizza and a ravioli. The bhai ka soda - half a teaspoon of jaljeera powder in a glass of flat thums up. Pretty average tasting. Peanut butter milkshake - it was thick, creamy and tasted very nice. Nachos - the texture of the nachos was a cross between chai puri and khakra. The salsa was atrocious and we were just wishing they had simply given us doritos with cheese or something. I don't understand how someone can actually ruin nachos. Garlic cheese focaccia- firstly, it wasn't focaccia. Secondly, it wasn't baked properly. And thirdly, the bread wasn't seasoned at all. it was a disaster,tasted odd and made us sick. Ravioli - it was stuffed with corn and spinach. Never tasted something like it before. the sauce was not bad and overall it was quite an average dish.

Just before receiving the pizza,we happened to peep into the kitchen and realised that the chef was working in an open kitchen without a mask on. We immediately lost our appetite, asked the server to pack it for us,asked for our cheque and left. We also dropped the idea of ordering dessert.

This place reinforced the idea that pretty looking places don't have good food. It's a nice place for a date or to come with a group of friends to chill, but the food isn't...

Was in kamanahalli area on a weekaday and found this place with a good rating (4.2) on zomato, plus they accepted Zomato Gold. Amble space for parking. Took the outdoor seating area since I was alone and it was less crowded and the decor outdoor was really good. The place is quite spacious and the ambience is nice and the music too but that's not the suprise, such a pathetic service from the staff they were least bothered about the customers and were lost in their on world. The guy who took the order wasn't aware of any of the dishes in the menu and he went inside everytime I asked for more details of the items, not sure whether he was a new hire or they dont train their staff. Ordered a starter "A basket full of love" in veg which was pretty okay and a chilli moo in non veg, which was horrible in taste which was actually the recommendation of the staff. Not sure if it's because I applied the gold but the portion were so small that it looked mostly like a veg dish with only veggies and leaves. Dissapointed in the service and the starters I ordered and a burger which was "Aunty Dollys Chicken Burger" and to my surprise it was a fried chicken piece inside a burger!!! I guess they don't know what a patty means or how to make a burger. Being a hardcore fan of thulp and truffles burgers I didn't have words to describe this fancy named burger so I informed the staff to get the cheque and wanted to leave the place and he got it immediately which included a service charge for this amazing experience as well and then dissappeared for 10 mins!! For a second I thought since the food was so horrible they don't take the money! 😂
