Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Premium Price

I placed an order on 13th July, paying 2X the standard price expecting premium quality and service. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what was promised, and the owner has shown no accountability whatsoever.

Despite selecting a delivery slot between 7–8 PM, the cake was delivered at 6:20 PM without any prior notice. This ruined our schedule as we had a hotel table booked with a planned time gap of 2 hours, which was completely disrupted.

When we finally opened the cake at the hotel for celebration, we were shocked to see that the name was missing and the bottom glaze was falling off – clearly a sign of poor handling and quality control.

Upon contacting the Lamara team, they initially asked for images, which I promptly provided. After wasting 4 days, they casually claimed it was a "technical glitch" and that the name didn’t reflect on their end. Luckily, I had taken a screenshot of the order with the name clearly mentioned.

Instead of taking responsibility or offering a genuine apology, the team simply passed the blame to the customer, saying I should have called them to confirm the name – which makes absolutely no sense when you’re running a tech-based ordering system and charging premium prices. If your app can't reliably capture basic inputs, how can you justify such pricing?

Final thoughts: If you're going to charge double the standard rate, the minimum expectation is quality, reliability, and accountability. Sadly, none of these were delivered. The way this issue was handled was both unprofessional and disappointing.

It pains me to say that Lamara is no longer what it used to be. I’ve been a loyal Lamara customer for over 3 years. Every special occasion in my family—birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations—you name it, Lamara cakes were always the centerpiece. I’ve recommended this place to countless friends.

Over the last 6–8 months, the quality has plummeted. It’s shocking how quickly they’ve gone from being a top-tier patisserie to an utter disappointment. It seems like in their rush to scale or expand, they’ve sacrificed the very thing that made them special: consistency and quality.

The biggest letdown was their once-exquisite Caramel Financier—a personal favorite and one of their best sellers. My recent order of it was borderline inedible. The texture was off, the flavor flat, and it felt like it had been made with zero care or finesse. Still, I gave them the benefit of doubt—maybe a bad day in the kitchen? But no—the next two orders were just as appalling. None of it felt like the Lamara I knew.

It’s honestly heartbreaking to watch a brand you’ve loved erode its own reputation so fast. I’ve never seen such a steep and disappointing downfall in such a short span of time.
