Malabar Bay in Koramangala presents itself as a prime dining destination, but my recent experience left much to be desired, particularly in terms of service and cleanliness.
Upon entering, one would expect a warm welcome or at least some attention from the staff. However, this was far from what I encountered. The service was disappointingly poor. It was not just about being unattended for long periods, but also about the staff's attitude. They were notably rude and unaccommodating. The person designated to take orders was more interested in telling people to wait rather than actually taking the orders. This lack of basic customer service etiquette significantly marred the dining experience.
Moreover, the cleanliness, or the lack thereof, was alarming. Malabar Bay's kitchen, a place one would expect to uphold the highest standards of hygiene, felt like a mini zoo. It's advisable not to even peek into the kitchen unless you're prepared for an unpleasant sight. This blatant disregard for cleanliness raises serious concerns about the overall hygiene practices in the restaurant.
The food, overshadowed by these significant flaws, could not redeem the overall experience. Despite the restaurant's reputation and the hype surrounding it, the reality falls short. The quality of food and presentation does not compensate for the dismal service and poor hygiene standards.
In conclusion, Malabar Bay in Koramangala, despite its popularity, is a letdown. The lack of professionalism in service and the appalling state of cleanliness significantly detract from what could have been a pleasant dining experience. It's a classic case of a very overrated establishment failing to live up to the...
Read moreOne demerit of this restaurant is the service. Captains are not coordinated and servers are very impatient. It took a while to place my order, that too after I walked to them for the same. Response towards customer is really slow and barely satisfactory. Management should look into this. Apart from that It's a good place to go eat if you're in a mood for Malayali cuisine. Do visit. Very poor standards of servings... They don't bother to show u the table, while serving cutlery was not been given. Server doe's comes to the table until or unless u call the two to three times... Not a good place to visit We went in at about 1:45pm and we got a seat by 2:15pm. Then we were seated at the table for 10 mins with no one to clean our table or take our order. Finally a guy came n took our orders.but doesn't know any thing, poor captain,
Seriously ...come to this place if u wanna wait..they serve wait the best..the waiters were highly inexperienced, getting
hat I really hated was the the late service which really tests ur patience , there's no one to take order or even the bill , but liked the food , or else it's a big zero for service
Worst service I have ever experienced. These people serve with smiling faces only when you go in more numbers. Today, my friend and I were there for dinner, and we were not at all satisfied with their service. The waiter never approached us to take further orders while he stands beside a group of ppl who wer there. He asked us to wait for sometime when we called him up to place the order and he repeatedly did this. Never reach here if yu are expecting a good...
Read moreHave been to this restaurant at least 3-4 times but generally just for tea. As I've got reviews from my friends that the food isn't that good especially considering the area which has plenty of other restaurants within a radius of 1 Km providing much better food at the better price as well.
Against all odds, This time around I thought to give the try and ask the waiter for recommending a seafood starter and he suggested Tiger Prawns. The prawns turned out to be the worst prawns that we ever had ! It smelled horrible and wasn't cleaned properly as well. The waiter didn't respond well. So I asked the manager (or head waiter) to take back the dish and get me decent starter. His attitude and tone towards the customer was even worse.. He was arguing about this is how the dish is prepared in Kerala - which didn't seem right at all as I've already had Kerala style tiger prawns. I decently asked to take the dish back. But he kept on refusing and instead provided me with a substitute prawns fry dish - which didn't seem like much of an upgrade. There were hardly any prawns pieces but just onions, tomatoes, curry leaves etc. Especially considering the fact that all of us who ate it, got a bad stomach! Even though we hardly ate them yet paid app 400 bucks for this.
Taste of food is one thing but the service and attitude towards customer is another. Not sure which was worse here...
This was a horrible experience and I'm definitely not visiting this...
