I have always been a loyal fan of McDonald’s, but today, a single incident completely shattered that sentiment and left me furious with the staff. I understand that hate is a strong word, but it’s exactly how I felt in this moment of utter disappointment.
While placing my order at the McDonald’s outlet in Royal Meenakshi Mall, a distressed woman approached the counter asking for water. The cashier initially tried to assist her and informed her the price of a bottled water was ₹50 for 500 mL. What happened next was shocking—Mr. Prakash R, in the most condescending and cocky tone, yelled that it was ₹70 instead. His behavior was absolutely unprofessional and humiliating, causing the poor lady to leave the store visibly upset.
I decided to politely question this so-called “Assistant Manager” Prakash about the contradictory pricing. His response? A pathetic, jargon-filled statement delivered with an attitude that reeked of arrogance. Even worse, none of the other staff seemed aware of this supposed price increase, which, according to him, had been implemented just a few hours ago.
I am genuinely appalled that someone with such a disgusting attitude towards customers holds a managerial position. This incident was not just about the price discrepancy; it was about the sheer lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic customer service skills demonstrated by this individual.
