Disappointing Experience - Insect in Masala Puri

I recently had an unfortunate experience at New Udupi Upahar that I feel compelled to share. I ordered Masala Puri, and to our dismay, we discovered an insect in it. This was not only a major hygiene concern but also a breach of basic food safety standards.

To make matters worse, when we brought this issue to the cashier's attention, he displayed a rude and dismissive attitude. He was very disrespectful and started shouting Aai Aai...and was being racist as I am a Tamilian.

Despite the clear evidence of contamination, they flat-out refused to provide a refund or any form of compensation. Such a lack of professionalism and customer care left us deeply disappointed.

While I have previously enjoyed the food at New Udupi Upahar, this incident has shaken my confidence in the establishment's commitment to food safety and customer satisfaction. I hope they take this feedback seriously and improve their hygiene standards and customer service to prevent such incidents from happening to others.

Insect contamination and poor customer service should never be tolerated, especially in the food industry. I hope New Udupi Upahar addresses these issues promptly to maintain the trust of...

Update on Jan 2024:

The order was for Open Butter Masala Dosa. The cooks make Onion Masala Dosa instead. After a long wait of 25 minutes, when we went and asked for Open Butter Masala Dosa, they said it's not there. We had to wait again for 15 minutes for the correct order. The servers standing behind the counter are fighting amongst themselves. The restaurant has lost its charm. The taste of the Open Butter Masala Dosa was not great, the dosa batter has changed. It's become soft and chewy. The ambience has become very noisy with vessel sounds from the counter.

Update on Jan 2022: The chefs have changed. Gobi Manchurian is full of spicy masala rather than Chinese sauces. Tomato soup had garam masala and sugar with no sourness of tomato nor creamy flavour. The parcel container size has reduced. You get very less quantity now which is not sufficient for even 1 person. Previously we shared a Gobi Manchurian or north Indian curry with 3 people. Now I was able to finish it on my own. Really disappointed with taste...

Had a bad experience just few mins ago - I went and ordered 3 items for my dinner and specifically told them to pack in 3 dabbas and 4 times I clearly told one of the service boy on the 1st item - Kichadi. To my surprise Kichadi was prepared and served in plate instead of packing it and the boys were calling out to come and collect it ......my dabba was kept inside the shelf with other parcel boxes...also mix up of the dabba was done today where I told clearly to pack fried rice in big dabba and gobi manchurian in another one...I seriously feel the place isnt run properly and there is mismanagement and the service boys dont listen to customer instructions properly. The owners are also not in picture to see these things and the main kitchen manager had no clue what happened..The service is pathetic and they just give what they...
