MTR — Restaurant in Bengaluru

This is the second time in two years I face an issue of customer service at MTR kammnahalli branch. The waiters/ staff are in the belief that a customer is a slave and will have to wait patiently for them to take an order. Having patiently waited for them, and after some eye contact with a waiter and knowing that they take some extra time to prepare a Masala Dosa, I took the liberty to order a Vada to kill my hunger momentarily,...meanwhile waiting for them to bring the Dosa. Instead they were chatting with each other and kept me waiting, till my patience ran out. By this time it was already 25 minutes gone after consuming the vada and no sign of the Dosa, I objected to this delay, to which the staff says that it takes time to prepare Dosa. 25 Minutes to prepare a dosa when the restaurant had just about a few customers. The staff has no clue that Customer Care is primary to any eatery. Just serving good food is not the only aspect of happiness, but service and quality connection with the customer's requirement is epitome to satisfaction. Gone are the days of how MTR staff would display courtesy and service with pride. An iconic 100 year old brand will not last if they treat the customer with disdain, especially with newer smaller eateries mushrooming all around who serve excellent food and provide a good smile while serving the food. I hope that the senior management looks into this part of their organisation and remedies proper changes...

Pretty modern and well organised place. You have a live kitchen which is a great way to watch your dosa being made.

They have different breakfast and lunch menus, so you won't get any rice items of any foods that are part of lunch menu.

Masala dosa was good, especially the whole experience of pouring ghee from a small cup. Apart from that ghee also flavours the crispy crust. Hot crispy, juicy mashed potato filling, this will surely want you to order more! Idli & Vada, idlis were fluffy and soft. Nothing special about these. Breakfast aslo includes neer dosa, ragi dosa, pudi etc.

Accompanied by the meal, we get sides of sambar and chutney. The Sambar was a little sweet for my taste, and there was no wow factor about it, it was just decent. Chutney on the other hand was good, a mix of spices.

Although the meal was filling and yum, for the price you pay you would definitely want your tummy and taste buds scream with joy. They don't in this case.

If you want to have a chill morning, with a pretty decent crowd of elderlies who are dropping by for a cup of coffee after a long morning walk.

Got a pop up frm Google on the number of views my reviews got, went thru my review history and realized i haven't downgraded my rating for MTR Kalyan Nagar yet. My previous rating was 3 n now its 1 for their Service (so called). Visited this place a couple of months back with my kids for breakfast. When we took a table which was vacant the order taker aka sr.waiter told us to change since a large fam walked in and wanted to sit together, so we accommodated and went to the only table that was empty which was right under the ac vent. Immediately the waiter came n we placed our order. Exactly couple of mins later and before our food cud come, a table next to the cash counter and not under an ac vent, was getting vacant, before we cud switch i called the guy who took our order and told him and he was ok with the switch. As my fam was about to sit at the table, quickly came the order taker aka sr.waiter and told we CANNOT do that and was adamant. Asked to speak to a manager, guess wat, no manager, asked the cashier too and he just gave me a card to call a number on it. We just walked out and will never visit this...
