North Star Café — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Okay this place is one of the best cafes in HSR layout. I would say if you like to work from a cafe, this place is heaven with a peaceful ambiance and one of the best WiFi connectivity along with unlimited coffee and tea options (selected ones).

This cafe is 95% plastic free as they use biodegradable water bottles, biodegradable delivery packaging materials and also encourage e-bills. One of the best things here is coffee and juice are served with steel straws which are taken care of so well and cleaned nicely.

Firstly, I tried the burrata toast which was made with brown bread toppings with salad and fresh cream added with tomatoes, so good and delicious 🤤. Next, we tried the cafe mocha with freshly ground coffee beans and the coffee aroma was amazing, with in-house chocolate ganache. The sauce is balanced in taste and yes I loved it totally 👍.

Next, we tried the Algerian Mazagran where they add a bit of lime to coffee. As this is a cold beverage, I observed the dominant lime flavour gives a good punch to tastebuds. Great for summers as it is served cold and is refreshing. We also tried the Rose mocha latte. As this was served hot, the rose flavour comes bang on to ur taste buds while sipping coffee we enjoyed the rose flavour.

They also have a fresh juice section. I tried ABC without sugar and ice. The fruits were cut freshly in front of us and juice was fresh in taste. Also they have a spiked coffee section with added alcohol flavours. As I saw tri star coffee is the highest selling coffee in this section along with eggnog. They have a huge range of coffee flavours.

From their food menu I tried the Peri Peri Paneer Bowl in the veg section. It was served really fresh and this bowl had fresh paneer, black beans. Also, the veggies they gave and the aromatic basmati rice was so delicious. It is a must try and I was absolutely flattered. In the non veg section we tried the Turkish Grilled Chicken with salad and green chutney, salad was so fresh and the green chutney was very flavourful. Also, they have veg and non veg pastas. We tried veg (Alfredo) which was delicious and fresh.

From the desserts we tried the cheesecake which was very smooth and velvety. Tiramisu here is one more signature dish as it is soft and liquid in texture while having a perfect sweetness balance.

Overall the best place in HSR for a meet up with friends, get together and a relaxed space to work from. Also, not to forget the manager Praveen who helped us and guided us throughout the wonderful time...

The restaurant has a good ambience and a pretty smart decor. Even the staff is courteous and all. However, they aren't the sharpest or the most efficient at taking, or remembering orders.

For starters, we ordered a North Star brekkie, an English Breakfast, A pink sauce pasta and a Caesar salad and coffee. The staff brought the coffee, North Star brekkie and the Caesar salad in about 15 minutes, and then completely forgot about the other two items. The pasta came after reminding them (after about 40 minutes). It would still have been ok, but then it took another reminder and about 10 more minutes to get the English Breakfast. However, now it had bacon 🥓 in it, that I had specifically asked to remove while ordering. I asked them to remove it, and 10 minutes later they brought the same stuff again in a new plate, the bacon removed, but the food now, stone cold.

The overall food and drink quality too, wasn't anything to talk positive about. Vietnamese iced coffee had minimal to no amount of condensed milk, one of the two key ingredients and was watery for the most part. The pasta provided some redemption to an otherwise lacklustre experience.

Not at all the service you would expect from a restaurant that had 100% 5-star reviews at the time (comprising about 40+ reviews).

I'm hoping that this was a one-off case in an otherwise good experience, however I'll reserve that until I go here the next time, if I do...

A newbie in town, North Star Cafe was intriguing enough for us to try. It has an elaborate menu and delicious food. The portion sizes are sufficient and coffee tastes awesome! Must try once for sure! We tried - Chicken Shawarma Croissant, Korean Barbeque Sandwich, Salt-Caramel Mocha and Pistacchio Coffee. All of it tasted delicious.

Few turn-offs though The cohesion of the acoustics, furniture setup and cooling of the space was just not right. Outward part of cafe was hot (no AC or Vents), the table height was too high and chairs were too low. It is not uncomfortable, but it is definitely a bit awkward to sit. We stayed for 2.5 hours but just couldn't find a comfortable position till we went and sat on the bar stools Owing to this arrangement, customers had to talk loudly as the distances between them was too large, which led to echoing of voices and us not able to hear each other. (at least for sometime) The service was decent, but could be better. We asked twice for a feedback link or form to suggest changes and praise their delicious food but that never came, which brought me here to share. Had a mix-up with milk (wanted almond got normal) inspite of confirming twice at the counter at the time of ordering. It happens but was...
