Extremely Disappointing – Misleading Reviews & Rude Staff
Visited Oyster, Bar & Kitchen last night for dinner – and I deeply regret it. I drove 12 km based on online reviews, but the reality was completely opposite. I honestly believe most of the reviews are either paid or written by their own staff – because this place is nowhere close to what’s promised.
The ambience was terrible – cramped, stinking, dusty, and the seating was broken. Basic cleanliness and upkeep were missing. I politely mentioned this to one of the staff members, a lady named Maya, and instead of showing concern, she rudely said, “You can write a Google review, we’re not the right people to discuss this with.”
I asked her name politely (as I prefer addressing staff by name), and she snapped, “Why do you need my personal information? What will you do with my name?” I then asked to speak to the manager, and she arrogantly said, “Manager doesn’t come like this.” Later when I pointed out that I was served only 30ml spirit instead of 60ml, she casually said she’d bring it again – no apology, no responsibility.
Eventually a manager did show up, but he just stood there without saying a word of apology or offering any resolution.
As for the food – horrible:
Chicken malai tikka was half-cooked and rubbery
Hard copy menus all were torn, shabby, and dirty
Presentation, taste, and hygiene were all substandard
While one male server and another female staff member were polite, the overall service experience was pathetic, especially because of Maya’s rude and dismissive attitude.
What shocked me most is how the staff has the audacity to challenge customers to write negative reviews instead of addressing their concerns. I don’t usually write reviews – but I had guests with me, and this experience was embarrassing and frustrating.
Do not trust the online photos or positive reviews – most are outdated or fake.

On 20th June 2025 we booked table for dinner and we got a table after waiting 15 mins. Nobody came to take order, at last we called waiter and asked him to take order. Music was so loud that waiter themselves can't hear what people are ordering. We decided for buffet. After waiting 40 mins we got 2 plates of burned potato wedges 1 plate having 4 wedges (total 8) "Note" - wedges were undercooked also . No water, no spoon, no fork were arranged on table. Then again we called waiter who came after 15 mins for spoon and other items. 2nd item they got 1 plate bhelpuri. Again there was gap of 20 min in bringing 2nd item. No sauce or chutney was served till then, we have to call waiter again ask for how long will it take to bring items as we went with our 4 year old daughter and she was hungry. We decided not to order further and leave after paying 3 item which were served after wating 1 hour. Again we ask to bring the bill for which they took 15 more mins. Finally we got a bill of 2000 for just 3 items which were already delayed. We denied to pay for pathetic service and 3 items which were not even properly cooked. We asked to bring genuine bill amount but Manager "RAMACHANDRA OR waiter themselves don't know what items were shared. We asked to tell them if they know how many dishes were served and they were blank. how come bill was for 2000 then? I was ready to pay genuine amount but they were not cooperating and also holding my Friends hand tightly to pay 2000 then only you can leave. It was just that I have my daughter with me due to which I did not filed a police complaint againt Manager and Owner. Read moreAfter looking at the good 4.6/5 overall rating on Google, decided to give it a try. Did a Swiggy Dineout pre-booking offer with redeemable ₹50 cover charges. After going there was greeted with a terrible experience. There was no one at the reception. And there was this staff in the photo who was so rude. I told him that I have done a reservation beforehand at 9:30 pm but he said he can't help as there are no empty places. When I asked I had reserved a table for two basis availability on the Swiggy Dineout app, he said you can go and complain whoever you want to. Such an attitude of the staff there.
Nevertheless, we went downstairs in a spoiled mood and gave a call at the restaurant number given during the time of reservation. Someone else picked up and asked us to come upstairs. We did, and there that staff apologized to us and had us sit at a table which was not even cleaned. They cleaned the table right in front of us, and even then, it was not cleaned properly.
After seeing the reckless, nonchalant attitude of the staff, we decided to save our self-respect and went to dine out at some other restaurant. Please do remember it's the manners, courtesy and behaviour which will attract the crowd, and not your ego and attitude. Your business depends on your customers, not the vice versa. There are tons of other bar and kitchen eateries in Bangalore; a customer always has the option to go to any one of them.
I lost redemption of the ₹50 cover charges but saved our self-respect, never to return to this place ever again. And please teach some morality to your staff and groom them to behave professionally. This is not some local, cheap bar where people with Rowdy Rathore attitude (again the staff in the photo) will be in service.
