Disappointing Decline in Quality and Ambience
The saying "Old is gold" doesn’t always hold true, and unfortunately, this place is a prime example. It used to be my absolute favorite spot for chaat and pav bhaji around 22-25 years ago, and back then, the food was truly delightful.
However, time has not been kind to this establishment. The interiors remain unchanged, giving the restaurant a neglected and outdated feel. The walls are visibly dirty, creating an unappealing dining environment. It’s disheartening to see that no effort has been made to maintain or upgrade the place.
Sadly, the food no longer lives up to its former glory. The chaat is bland, lacking the burst of flavors and freshness that once made it special. The pav bhaji, which used to be rich and delicious, now tastes dull and uninspiring. To make matters worse, the staff seem indifferent to hygiene, which raises concerns about cleanliness and food safety.
Overall, this place is a shadow of what it once was. Unless significant improvements are made, it’s hard to recommend it to anyone looking for a...
Read moreChaat is a family of savory snacks that can be served as an appetizer or as street food , and when you are a chaat lover you can have it anytime 🥰. Sagar Chaat and Sweets is one of our all time favourite hit spot for Chaat cravings, they have renovated the space and it’s beautiful, also the menu has your tastebuds watering , even weekends you need to wait for your turn to savour your favorite Chaat 🍽️. We tried there JALEBIS and FAFDA, then there was BUTTER VADA PAV , MISSEL PAV also we tried their colourful GOLAS .
Ended the plate with mango milkshakes and icecream platter .
Overall a good and decent place for all your chaat cravings , the best part is the Bun which they use for pav are fresh and they don’t smell of yeast . We have good experience apart from a little waiting for our turn to get in but it was worth .
I would recommend this place for all the Chaat lovers and I don’t wanna forget their Jalebis were also too good and...
Read moreWe were in commercial street and we came across this shop located there. The experience was a mixed one as the staff and owner were very rude. Took ages to take our order and bring it to table even after several reminders. Even when the food was served, it sat on the counter for quite some time before the server realised it is prepared.
Talking about the food, we had Ragda Patties which were good, and noodles which were very bland and pav bhaji which was good but Pav weren’t heated well. We also ordered Gobhi Manchurian which never reached us and also Veg Cheese Sandwich which was again not so good.
I wanted to give this place only one star but the other star only for the Gudbudh. It was something that we all really liked and ended up eating way more than we wanted to. IF you are here do not miss it...
