SGS NONVEG GUNDU PALAV With perfect weather, cravings for non-veg breakfast just increases. Deciding to taste one of the most famous non veg pulao in Bangalore, I set out to visit SGS NONVEG GUNDU PALAV in Balepet. This enterprise has been around for 33 years serving joy to people. Many people believe that the origin of serving food to customers in donne started here (bangalore). The menu consists only of Chicken pulao, mutton pulao and plain pulao in the morning and chicken kabab and chicken chatriya in the evening. Here the pulao and the meat is cooked separately. Ordering both chicken and mutton pulao I headed into the first floor to dine-in and taste the goodness. The pulao is garnished with lemon, onion, boiled egg and cucumbers which is altogether served in donne. The piquant flavour of chilli, ginger and garlic in the masala just made the chicken pulao so tasty. The chicken was perfectly cooked with perfect marination and the chicken was juicy till it's last bit . The most interesting part of this restaurant is the salt and pepper you find on every table which is used to add extra flavours to your pulao and let me tell you… they aren't lying. The mutton pulao's rice tasted the same, but the meat had its own deep flavours. If you ask me... I liked the chicken pulao over the mutton so much that I went for another plate. I personally recommend you all to visit here. Chicken pulao :-5/5 Mutton pulao :-4/5 Follow me on Instagram...

"This simple restaurant serves a few Karnataka-style Pulaos and starters which are quite economically priced as well. Portion size is quite good. Service is almost non-existent as it has a bill-first and self-service system. The staff members are friendly and polite."

Food: They serve simple Karnataka-style Pulaos and a few starters. I had Chicken Pulao here. I felt their pulao to be similar to a donne biryani. However, I really missed the raita. They did not offer any raita or salan and it is very difficult to have dry rice dishes without any liquid at all. It would have been much better if there was a raita as it not only helps us with washing down the food but also provides a cooling effect especially since their pulao is quite hot (in temperature).

Service: Bill payment followed by self-service is not a problem by itself but to carry our food to the next floor by stairs can be a little irritating. To order any other item, we would have to go down again, pay, and then carry the dish up again. Not a big fan of the system. The staff members however are good and polite. No problem with the people here at all.

Atmosphere: The ambience is simple, minimalistic, and gets the job done.

Overall, it's a pocket-friendly restaurant where you can have simple Pulaos and starters like kebabs, etc. However, I feel the service system can be better and also feel that raitas should be provided, if not complimentary with the pulaos, at least at...

After all the speculation and curiosity about early morning biriyani, I tried famous chickpet SGS Gundu palav chicken Donne biriyani / non-veg palav on sunday morning. I have reached the destination around 7:40 am waited there for 20 minutes with around fifty people's who already waiting to taste the biriyani.

Exactly 8:00am the gate opened and I entered as a first men and took token from cash counter paying 100 bucks for chicken Donne biriyani as they said mutton Biryani not available for morning menu.

Then I moved service counter to get the biriyani during that time I watched other people around each person rushing to taste the biriyani, some are ordering for parcel in large quantities (there is one person purchased 30 parcel).

Finally I got my Donne biriyani and I move to dining table to taste, I don't have time to go to first floor where sitting arrangements are done. I just tried Donne biriyani taste was nice not fantastic or fabulous because I tried lots of different types of biriyani in my life.

Pros: Look and feel (Donne biriyani, onion, cucumber, half boiled egg and three pieces of chicken) Authentic and genuine flavour Hygienic conditions

Cons: Quantity (may be due to price) Not easily recognisable due to little away from main road Not...
