Shanthi Sagar in Koramangala is one of those classic Bangalore eateries that never fail to impress — no matter how many times you visit. I had an absolutely wonderful experience here recently and it truly deserves a 5-star rating for its delicious food, clean setup, and authentic South Indian charm.
I stopped by to take a parcel of Masala Dosa, Vada, and Khaarabath, and the entire experience — from ordering to watching the food being prepared — was simply delightful. One of the best parts about Shanthi Sagar is their open kitchen, where you can actually watch your dosa being made fresh on the tawa right in front of you. The aroma of sizzling butter, the sight of perfectly crisp golden-brown dosas being folded with that spicy potato masala — it’s a treat for all the senses!
The Masala Dosa was absolutely delicious — crisp on the outside, soft inside, and generously filled with flavorful aloo masala. It came with perfectly blended chutney and piping hot sambar that complemented every bite. The Vada was crispy, golden, and light, with that classic South Indian flavor and texture that’s hard to find these days. And the Khaarabath was outstanding — soft, mildly spiced, and full of rich ghee aroma. You could tell that everything was made fresh and with care.
What I really appreciate about Shanthi Sagar is the variety they offer — from traditional South Indian tiffin items to North Indian meals, juices, sweets, and snacks, there’s truly something for everyone. The menu is extensive yet consistent in quality, and every dish is served fresh and flavorful. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, lunch, or an evening snack, you’ll always leave satisfied.
The staff are polite, quick, and efficient. They handle both dine-in and takeaway orders smoothly, even when the place gets busy. The parcel service is well-organized — the food was packed neatly, still hot when I got home, and everything tasted just as good as if it were eaten fresh at the table.
The ambience is simple, clean, and lively — very much in tune with the classic Shanthi Sagar vibe that’s nostalgic for many Bangaloreans. You’ll find families, office-goers, and students all enjoying hearty meals side by side — it’s a place that truly brings people together over good food.
Located conveniently in Koramangala, it’s easily accessible and perfect for a quick bite, a relaxed meal, or a takeaway on the go. Despite the rush during peak hours, the service remains prompt and the quality never slips.
In short, Shanthi Sagar continues to uphold its reputation as a legendary South Indian eatery — serving authentic flavors, maintaining cleanliness, and offering an amazing variety at affordable prices.

The 'masala dosa' is more of the 'benne dosa' types (slathered with butter - has a nice, dark caramelised brown colour to it) and is lip-smackingly delicious and flavourful; we had also ordered for 'chow chow bhaat' and 'rawa masala dosa' and we lapped up each one of them in its entirety. The semi-dry coconut chutney (pulverized with coriander, and has less water than the regular coconut chutney) is a...
Read moreVery worst experience I had here. I had my lunch in hot sunlight outside today as there is no space in hotel. No seats to sit n eat. Very less number of seats. They will take orders n give you food to make enough money even when all the tables are occupied by others and there is no space to stand inside hotel. You will end up having your food outside the hotel on footpath with heavy sunlight that too on standing. When I checked with the billing guy, he said they can't do anything. I will not recommend anyone. Please avoid this worst hotel in Koramangala Taste is also bad compared to...
