This place is amazing! A truly authentic South Indian Thali experience.
As soon as you enter, you are greeting by smiling staff who show you to a table. We opted for the Regular South Indian Thali (Rs. 200 on a Friday lunch). They spread a banana leaf in front of you and offer some water. Next, you begin with a roti (flatbread), three veggies, some achaar (pickle), and a papad (deep fried flattened lentils). Up next, you get rice with sambar (lentil-vegetable stew), rasam (lentil soup with tamarind), and two other variants of sambar for the second course. In addition, they also bring curd, buttermilk, and some sweet pongal (rice sweetened with jaggery) for dessert.
A true gastronomical delight! I’m back home, lying on the bed and rubbing my belly as I type this review. Absolutely stuffed with yummy food.
The levels of hygiene are great too. Sure, it’s not a five-star hotel but the staff take basic precautions like wearing gloves, hairnet, etc.
A few other things to keep in mind - the place is on the first floor and you need to climb around 25 steps to reach it (burn some of the calories cuz you’re gonna intake 100 times more). There’s no elevator.
There is street parking available for both cars and bikes on the street right outside the Kafe. We found a spot to park a car easily on a Friday afternoon. However, you may struggle to find a vacant parking spot during busier hours.
To echo the words of another reviewer, “as a hardcore non-vegetarian, this is the only veg restaurant that I frequent.”
I’m adding this to my list of Top 5 food joints in Bangalore. Sree Krishna Kafe is one of those hidden gems that are likely to explode in popularity and become super-crowded any day now. Enjoy it while it still...
Read moreAuthentic South Indian Delights: Shree Krishna Kafe in Koramangala is a charming old family-friendly restaurant that specializes in serving mouthwatering authentic South Indian cuisine. If you're craving traditional flavors, this is the place to be.
Must-Try Dishes: The highlight of my visit was the delectable Ghee Masala Dosa, which was perfectly crispy and generously filled with flavorful spiced potatoes. The Vada Sambar was equally delightful, with the vadas being just the right amount of crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.
Traditional Presentation: What makes the dining experience at Shree Krishna Kafe even more special is the traditional way they serve their food. The dishes are elegantly presented on banana leaves, adding a touch of nostalgia to the meal.
Refreshing Tea: Alongside the scrumptious food, I had the pleasure of sipping on their tea. The tea was a refreshing blend that complemented the flavors of the South Indian dishes.
Warm Staff and Excellent Service: The staff at Shree Krishna Kafe truly embodies hospitality. Their warm and friendly demeanor added to the overall positive experience. The service was prompt, and they were more than happy to provide recommendations and answer any questions I had...
Read moreThe restaurant service after COVID has gone down the drain.
The tables are not at any distance to adhere to social distance. The spacing is the same as pre-covid.
Do not go there for meals, it is very unhygienic currently. Too many people handle the banana leaves, papad, rice and curd bowls without any gloves/ and in bare hands.
After unhygienic conditions come the worst quality in food, anytime you go there pre check what is there in the meals, they claim unlimited meals charge a bomb of 180 rupees and serve cold rice, sambar and more kulambhu without any vegetables, the main side dish was not available. The server told us a lot of the items were over after we started eating.
When asked, the manager in the billing counter was arrogant to say 'we served the other items once' and was disrespectful towards my wife.
The manger was not just unapologetic for the pathetic service but also was so arrogant and chauvinistic in the response he gave.
Would never suggest to go this place, the service is terrible and quality is...
