I've been visiting this place since more than a year... The decor is great, the location has parking issues, but the backstreet is very vacant for parking...and food is pretty excellent.
However, lately I've experienced major disappointment regarding the restaurant ambience and service. First it's about Air conditioning. During the afternoons, when there are less customers, the staff turn the AC completely off...and they turn on a loud and noisy industrial fan instead... This not only is ineffective in cooling the space, but it also ruins the restaurant ambience completely. When I spoke to the manager about this, he said that it's the restaurant owner's orders to turn off the AC when there are less customers...and when I asked if I can speak to the owner, to try and convince him that this type of customer treatment is a bad idea, he refused, and told us that this is the way it is, whether we like it or not. Further the restaurant staff are very poorly trained...they are definitely polite and considerate...but they seem to lack restaurant etiquette... We were served a fish thali...but the neer dosa and rice was cold...and when I brought it to the waiter's notice... He just picked up the neer dosa from my plate with his bare hands😧...took it to the kitchen, heated it up and brought it back in a plate...but I really didn't feel like getting back to those neerdosas after his hand treatment...and was also too tired and annoyed to make them understand what was wrong exactly....so I just ate the rice and tried not to imagine what level of hygiene might be practiced being the closed doors of the kitchen...
It is very disappointing to see one of my favourite restaurants developing a bad attitude and worse customer treatment, but I guess, like the manager says, this is the way it is...not all businesses can succeed and prosper..... Bad service, poor customer treatment, and most importantly, hygiene issues can never be forgiven.
Once my favourite restaurant for lunch, now I advised people not...
