A bit of Goa in Kammanahalli – casa de Goa.
There is saying that goes Me cas es tu casa – which means my house is your house. Something similar – my choice of goan cuisine restaurant could be your choice of goan cuisine restaurant. I had first visited Casa de Goa in around 2017 – after that I have been quiet a regular here.
It’s the ambiance of place is simple – had a white walled entry area that gives you a feel of some of the old goan portugal buildings. Comfortable seating area. They have both outdown – or a properly ventilated seating for smokers and indoor seating. The dress the stewards wear here also makes you feel for a bit you r in Goa.
In most of my visits to casa de goa – my orders has been a contact dishes. As really love to have same things again and again and again..
In cocktails I really loved the Wiskey sour and mahattan here. B-52 is yet another favourites in the shots menu for me.
In most of my visits I have had Goan green fish curry – a creamy cococut based curry that has mild taste – mostly the fish used is a fresh stock. I really loved this one.
Yet another favorite choice is Goan green vegetable curry. This is sheer bliss – usually pair it with coconut rice.
Ambotik fish curry is my second favourite dish for the Sweet and sour taste it renders – I loved to have it with the goan red rice which makes a best accompaniment.
Pomfret masala fry here is to die for – I really loved to have it along side my whiskey. If I am not dining in here then I swiggy it to pair it along a small drink for the evening. Loved the freshness in masala and really well cleaned and cooked pomfret.
More than food what makes me come back to this place again and again is there friendly staff – They greet you with a smile and service is timely and they have great attitude. If there is anything that a miss in the days food they are sure to...
Read moreCasa De Goa will take you all the way to Goa through your taste buds. My husband, daughter and I are ardent fans of sea food and since Goa trip is a bit far away on our calendar we decided to visit this place to please our cravings. Food taste wise , Casa de Goa didn't disappoint us. Our order was as follows - Butter garlic prawns - very creamy and juicy yet flavourful; Wine battered squids - cooking squids could be tricky but this dish was cooked near to perfection, squids were soft & delicious, sweet chilli sauce came as condiment which gelled well; Coorgi pork - meat was tender and the flavours were subtle ie not too chilly; Big chilli prawns - prawns were tossed with a lot of onion and capsicum the taste was good, but I found the amount of onion and capsicum was too much which was wasted; fish and shrimp fried rice - was the best of all the dishes, the dish was appealing to the sight and taste; Fish Curry - taste was like an ordinary Goan fish curry; last but the least we ended our lunch with Bebinca-icecream - you need to probably develop a taste for this combination, it was nice but I would have to try it again after some gap to appreciate it maybe. The cocktails and mocktail were refreshing. Interiors are well done with enhances the Goan theme. Service 3.5 because in the beginning the service was good but as time passed we could see less stewards and service...
Read moreI'm rating this restaurant very poor because of the rude and arrogant interaction with the manager Mr Sandeep. There were concerns because we ordered. Mineral water which normally the staff opens in front of us and leave at the table. Here they brought the bottle the first time rest was brought filling our glass. Unless they open the seal or leave the bottle at the table there is always ambiguity. Mineral water of Rs 25 is charged Rs 60+GST+Service charge per bottle out of which only one was brought to the table. Explanation from Sandeep is that court had ruled restaurants can charge whatever rate. Common even then can't be over doubled rate. The food was good, agreed but service not to the mark. But cost is never justified for the quality and experience. Staff don't have coordination and different people attend to you. Many times glasses, cutlery etc was missed for people at the table. One food was brought in after everyone finished eating. None of the food was served but they charged 5% extra for service charge. Such arrogant attitude that spells out that customer is hardly valued is highlighted. Why would anyone wanna go eat there even if food is good in a city like Bangalore where...
