The Local — Restaurant in Bengaluru

Type: Bar, Informal, Drinkery Price : Decent Food : Barbeque Chicken Burger – Big, Juicy, Messy! The chunk of chicken was huge and never ending. I would have preferred a slightly hot sauce to go with my chilled Beer. You know, a play of contrasts. Food: Fish & Chips – Good Portion of Chips, Oily, Fish was well done, firm and retained its juices. The aroma!! The TarTar Sauce could have been much better as it left us with no taste lingering in our mouth. Drinks: Beer & Breezer. The first pint of Beer was NOT chilled. I consider that as a sin, regardless of the excuses and consequences! Ambience: We got a place for two at the terrace. A very informal and “local” setup which was appealing in its own way. Not too dim, not too bright. We got to sit on Iron Chairs and had cute Iron Table to ourselves, with a candle on it. It was interesting but couldn’t keep our attention for more than a minute. A little congested but I did not mind it and neither did my date. Service: Slow. The bottle of Breezer came in a jiffy after we ordered, it was the pint that made the lady wait for a toast, customary kissing of bottles and a refreshing sip! I was restless and a reminder to the waiter got me my KF Premium within two minutes. It did not matter much after that as I got busy ‘entertaining’ the lady. Interiors and Space : Wooden Benches, Iron Tables, Chairs, Sofas. It was like a mosaic and the plants, flower pots did make it come alive. Floor space is fair and movement of ‘drunkards’ is not restricted. I was ticked off by the design of Toilets however. You can go and check out the reason!! Music: I got to hear MJ – The Girl is Mine! Eye of the Tiger of Rocky fame. No complaints! Location & Parking : Located above Jimi’s, near the BMTC hub in Kormangala. Although, it is hard to miss but strenuous to locate a parking spot!

I would definitely recommend this place. A flight of 26 stairs will take you to the terrace and greet you with a minuscule bar! Ample benches and large tables for groups. Cozy corners for the love birds. Intimate little tables for the ones on dates. Yes, the projector ensures you do NOT miss that football...

The ever bad experience which ruined my day or luckily not my life. As it is roof top it's full of mosquitoes which is understandable, but without any intimation they smoked the whole premises , being a doctor I am sure that it also includes some pesticides which we should not ever breathe.. My wife faced breathlessness to the extremity , me and the others who accompanied also got continuous cough and respiratory problem( left from there not sure about other ) As the situation was that much worse I took my wife to hospital and was needed to take nebulization and injections to her to make her breath back. In that emergency , also no staff was good to us and they just was in hurry to make us pay the bill and not even thinking of the mistake. The staffs where so rude and not asking a sorry to us instead saying there is no mistake from there end.. As my wife's condition was too bad we didn't go for a police case. I will never ever recommend this place to anyone as they are not even considering the customers, if any asthmathetic or allergetic people where there this may even affect there life. Even the manager didn’t even came out of his place...

We are well aware of the fumigation process and even we have exposed to traditional fumigation which even happens in our home in a closed environment but we have never ever faced such a suffocation. After exposing to the smoke one started to vomit who just had a mocktail because of the intense smoke. And my wife sat on the floor in front of your entrance and the other vomitted near the entrance tree but none in your staff where concerned for the customers. In that emergency also they just needed to pay the bill rather than helping us to find a nearby hospital. Not even your manager was available at that emergency. Your guys were so rude.pathetic experience it was and how dare to pretend that it was not ur mistake still... it’s the worst part that I have ever...

So this review is coming from someone who is visiting this place since 2015 regularly. I have made many friends here and this place is a perfect example of how not to attract guests. While other places are improving. This place has become worse. I still remember when i used to come initially “old songs, friendly staff and yummy food, 2+1 drinks offers” and now i still come even though so much has changed bcz this place is close to my heart. I visited this place earlier this month where the person asked only for google pay saying card machine is not working so i raised a feedback and got a call next day from a manager saying it won’t happen again and hence i visited again and i was traumatised when the bar tender came and started fighting for raising the feedback and once more another person came and said before placing the order that they would accept only google pay, we finally spoke to another person who agreed to take the card. I visited local on 24th ( last time ) and again the person who was serving us again came and said that they would accept only UPI and no cards, when asked if we can speak to a manager they said manager is on leave. It was so humiliating and we decided we would never go to this place. I hope this feedback reached the owner bcz at the end it’s...
