OK. So here I am again. Posting about places I visit. Well, this is where you will find me litteraly every alternate day. Yes, I deserve some discount as I splurge half my salary here as the coffee ain't that cheap (depending on how big your pocket is).
In the beginning, when I saw this place, it was just too fancy for my liking - Minimal, warm lighting, simple furniture and so on, no posters telling corny lines, no cartoons, comics and the likes that you see all around Bangalore. But then I ordered a cup ( which is definitely a D size for sure) of cappuccino, and then later cafe mocha, then cold coffee, cold mocha, expresso and man was it good. They brew their own coffee which speaks for itself. Being a regular now, you tend to meet a lot of creative folks around. Students drawing all the time, designers hunched over their lappys trying to get things just right, musicians discussing their upcoming gigs, authors, professors.... You just keep meeting interesting folks here. A lot of international crowd hang out here ,so sharing stories (that is if you are OK with talking to absolute random strangers) with them is an absolute delight. Well, that's the good part of this place. The bad part is the food ain't that good. The quantity is small and most of their pasteries is just too dry. If only they can do something about the food it would be an overall awesome place. Do visit this place, and if the stars are just right we might have a good conversation with each other over some good coffee. P. S. To the people who own this awesome place- Good food and coffee are best friends, so don't deprive your coffee from making best friends. Giving this place a 4 star coz I just love your coffee...
Read moreOne of the best coffee joints in Bangalore. I've had one of the best coffee at this place. It's a small coffee shop located off the main road in Kalyan Nagar. The location is amazing. Far enough from the main road to make it a really great place to have conversations without any disturbances.
The ambiance is fascinating. From all the Cafe's I've visited till date, this place had the best atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. Though I would prefer you to go indoors because the interiors are wonderful. The dim yellow lights in the evening and coffee brown decor make this a perfect place. One of the best places to sit and get your work done and also conduct meetings, go on a date or maybe just spend some time with your friends grabbing a cup of your favorite coffee. Laptop charging points are present on every table which makes it convenient to sit for long hours. You can sit here for as long as you wish.
The menu here is very minimal, so as to not confuse people with multiple coffee names. Everything right from getting the coffee cherries to the coffee powder is done by them. Thus providing you with the best coffee experience. I've tasted everything on their menu, the hot coffee, and the frappes. They all are good. You can try anything you like and you won't be disappointed.
To sum it up, the best thing is about this cafe is that coffee is one of the best and at a reasonable price. The ambiance is perfect for a coffee house and their playlist is also really good with all the classical piano pieces. Great place to chit chat with your friends over a cup of coffee.
I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone whether you like...
Read moreThe Roastery is a wonderful café; probably my favourite in all of Bangalore. Their latté is great. They also offer good roasted coffee beans and cold pressed coffee for purchase.
So why the four star rating?
For one, the employees do not completely understand coffee-related questions asked by customers. Once, I asked for decaf coffee as I was meeting friends for a late meeting. They said that the had decaf coffee and I checked multiple times to be sure. A friend asked in Hindi if I would be getting decaffeinated coffee and discovered that I would not. Another time, a friend asked if they had vegan coffee options. The employee working said no. I asked if they had soy milk and they said they did. If these issues could be resolved, it would greatly enhance the experience at The Roastery.
In addition, The Roastery does not offer WiFi. Many times I have gone to The Roastery to work on projects but I have been unable to due to the lack of internet connectivity. My mobile network provider is Jio and for some reason, Jio has no network coverage at The Roastery. So, working out of the café is difficult for me. The setup at The Roastery is perfect for doing work except for this factor.
Finally, there are lots of mosquitos that hang out in the outdoor seating area. Another slight annoyance; fixing it could greatly enhance the experience at The Roastery.
All in all, this is an awesome café that falls just short of a five...
