Biryani by Kilo - Bhubaneswar — Restaurant in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation

I have three grievances with respect to the delivery by BBK Biryani and two suggestions wrt the food options.

I placed the order at 12:50 pm on Sunday, 20 June 2021 and as per the claim by the BBK chain that they deliver in 90 minutes, I should have received the food by 2:20 pm. But unfortunately it got delivered at 3:05 pm, a delay of 45 minutes which is just a contradiction to the USP of the company that 90 minute order to delivery ! The second issue is to with the poor supply chain management. The BBK kitchen is in Chandrashekharpur in Bhubaneshwar and I ordered from a place in Jagannath Vihar. However when the delivery guy was out for delivery he first delivered at a place in Jagmohan Nagar and then came to my place which is just back freighting. Because while going to jagmohan nagar through my place in Jagannath vihar from Chandrashekharpur it could have delivered to get at least lesser brownie points. I had called the customer care thrice - one within 90 mins, on at 90 min and one after two hrs. If necessary action would have initiated by the customer care personals in terms of coordination there is a chance that the order might have delivered on time. Lastly while calling the last time I was advised by the BBK personnel to call the delivery boy to which I refused and requested I should not be doing this and BBK has to do the necessary follow up.

Lastly the poor delivery guy has nothing to do with the delay and he was only going as per instructions it seems.

The quality of mutton biryani was awesome as usual and while searching for 1 Killo mutton Hyderabadi dum I couldn’t find as they don’t serve 1 kg pack and had to order two 1/2 killo portions for two of us. Mutton quantity is sufficient (4 large pieces almost 350 gm) but less rice with proportion to flesh and they can have option of getting some extra rice to serve it to...

The delivery driver did not have change in hand, for which he also said that “you should have known to arrange for exact cash”, “ from next time I will tell my manager to not accept order from this area because it’s so far” he is telling me this, as if it’s my fault that I have ordered and it’s my fault that I have paid and gotten this food. As if I have gotten this food for free, that is what the behavior was of the guy. After he requested to not lodge a complaint, I went ahead and called the toll free number where I had called and told about him, not to lodge a complaint but even after that he was not happy and he was talking in such a entitled manner. It was raining, so I offered him to stay indoors w a chair and some snacks, to which he denied the snacks in very rude way as if I’m obligated to offer him stuff. Bhalai ka zamana nahi raha. Truly saddens me. He also says that if I say, then even the toll free guys won’t accept your order in your area, as if he was trying to threaten me with saying that look from next time I ll not allow to take your orders. I am having the worst experience with my recent order from Biryani By Kilo. The quantity of biryani is shockingly low—it looks like I receive only half of what I order. The chicken pieces are so small and few that at first, I think there is just one piece until I check thoroughly.

I used to order from them a lot, and after a gap of six months, I expect the same quantity and quality as before. I still remember that six months ago, the container is so full that rice sticks to the lid. This time, the container is almost half empty.

Earlier, I have to transfer the biryani to a plate just to mix it properly. Now, I can mix it right in the container because there is so much empty space due to the reduced quantity.

To make it worse, I used to feel full even with half a kilo of biryani—and still had some left over. This time, I eat the entire portion and still feel hungry.
