We went there after we saw tons of positive reviews on Instagram and google. But, we did not have a full pleasant experience and I am going to detail it properly.
We reached this place at around 1pm. There were plenty of seats available there was no trouble getting a seat at all. The outside does not look that decorated but the ambience of this place was really good on the inside.
There are 2 kinds of seat available inside. One is a mattress system in the middle, another is around the center with proper dining table, etc. We were lead to our seat by one staff. We waited for 5 minutes without any response from the staff. We called one, but got ignored before someone finally noticed around 8 mins later and brought us a menu card. The menu options were very limited, so we ordered what we thought was good - chicken dum biriyani, strawberry freak shake, chicken nazakat, Fish ajawain, chicken shorba soup, punjabi lassi.
Chicken shorba soup tasted really good and it served hot and fresh.
Strawberry freak shake was served with 2 strawberry ice-cream scoops. One scoop was on top of a brownie (which was rock hard and not good at all) which in turn was on top of a marie-gold biscuit. The other scoop was on top of a marie-gold biscuit only. Cadbury gems was scattered all over with chocolate sauce. The strawberry shake itself was served with a scoop of ice-cream inside. We delayed eating it a bit and the ice-cream melted inside creating a coffee shake instead. It did not have a single hint of strawberry flavor inside it. Moreover, the shake was not provided with straws. They served it with a spoon. We asked for one but got ignored for like 30 minutes straight.
Chicken nazakat was good but the meat was a bit tough. But the flavor was good. Fish ajawain had no taste at all. It was just average or maybe below average. I have no idea why people praise this dish? Maybe they just don't know how good fish tastes like.
Punjabi lassi tasted REALLY good. I will recommend this you to try if you are visiting this place.
Chicken dum biriyani was not that good. It was not as flavorful as I expected it to be. I have had better biriyani than this before in bhubaneswar city itself. This place is a bit overhyped for this.
Finger bowl at the end was not provided for all the members seated at the table but just for one. This was pure rude behavior. I don't care how busy you are but you should treat everyone nicely.
Furthermore, the location of this place is far too remote. We traveled from Esplanade mall. It took around 15mins to reach by...
Read moreOften times a place which is rated good has a other side of the coin that one experiences only by visiting. Visited on recommendation of acquaintances and first impressions are great. The service, staff and management is great, the ambience is great and the cleanliness and hygiene of the premise is exceptional, full marks for that. But the bad experience that happened with me that too on the very first visit is that I found used Stapler pins in my food. This is an extremely dangerous occurance for the customers. And could have hurt unless I was not a slow and mindful eater.
Redeemable and appreciably grievance redressal of the management must be commendable because when the issue of Stapler in food was pointed the management and staff were quick enough to acknowledge and tried their best to salvage the situation well, offered for a new dish which I rejected because mood was off but they offered other options and gracefully acknowledged.
However a strict action or follow up on the reasons of the pins in food even after being asked explicitly was not addressed. Would have been a considerate service if this issue would have been met with. I hope this is exception and rare.
For the food, the Dining experience provides a complete and authentic Punjabi aesthetics. The music, the menu and ambience would take you to Punjab. Quality of food is good.
Taste is good for the food ordered. Ingredients and contents of the food are of good quality. We ordered vegetarian main course and it was okayish and slightly on an the sweeter side of the taste pallette, I mean malaaii kofta is understandable, Kadhaai Mashroom on the sweeter side was not the best experience. Well food would 3.5 stars.
Finally, despite everything being okayish to good, why am I giving 2 stars, one would ask?!!! Well the food and dining experience is paramount for me as a customer and if that is compromised and for me it could have turned out to be dangerous, so if everything would have gone well I would have given 3.5 stars.
But since this is a grave situation And can happen to anybody, I expect customers to read this review and be wary and careful of the food because of this dangerous occurance that happened to me. Be aware and enjoy. Will visit soon for a hopefully...
Read moreA visit to Kake Da Minar is a true feast for the senses, and the Non-Veg Maharaja Thali is a culinary masterpiece that lives up to its name. From the moment the thali arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary meal. The star of the show, the chicken biryani, was a beautiful harmony of aromatic spices and tender chicken, each grain of rice perfectly cooked. The butter chicken was rich and creamy, with a subtle sweetness that balanced the deep flavor of the tomato and spices, while the chicken tangdi was succulent and perfectly charred. The thali also showcased the restaurant's mastery of vegetarian dishes. The dal makhani was slow-cooked to perfection, with a velvety texture that was both comforting and decadent. The pindi chole had a zesty, tangy flavor that provided a wonderful contrast to the richer curries. The fresh salads and vibrant mint chutney added a refreshing crunch and a burst of cool flavor that tied the entire meal together. To conclude this royal dining experience, the phirni was nothing short of divine. Its delicate rose aroma and creamy texture were the perfect end to such a lavish meal, leaving a sweet and fragrant memory. Beyond the incredible food, the staff at Kake Da Minar truly elevated the experience. Their service was a perfect blend of professionalism and warmth. They were attentive, polite, and always ready to offer a genuine smile, making you feel welcomed and valued. The thoughtful and courteous behavior of the staff made the meal even more enjoyable. In short, Kake Da Minar offers more than just food; it offers an experience. The Non-Veg Maharaja Thali is a must-try for anyone seeking an authentic and unforgettable Punjabi meal, and the impeccable service is the...
