BEST ASIAN BUFFET in KOLKATA! PARADISE for Asian food lovers Full video YT CHANNEL: EatTravelLaughRepeat I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bizare ASIA in Kolkata, and let me say, it was an extraordinary experience from start to finish. This restaurant truly offers a culinary adventure with its impressive variety of Asian cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting ambiance that set the tone for the evening. Ambiance and Atmosphere: The restaurant’s decor is a perfect blend of contemporary and traditional Asian elements, creating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. Soft lighting and tasteful design elements make it a great spot for both intimate dinners and casual gatherings. Culinary Delights: The food at Bizare ASIA is nothing short of spectacular. The non-vegetarian buffet, priced at ₹995 plus taxes, is steel given the quality and variety of dishes offered. Here’s a rundown of some of the highlights: • Live Counter: The live counter was a standout feature, offering Cheung Fun, Dimsum, Sushi, and Bao. The prawn dim sum and prawn tempura sushi, Indianized to suit local palates, were especially noteworthy. o Cheung Fun: This dish was a revelation. The delicate rice noodle rolls were perfectly steamed and filled with savory goodness. Each bite was a delightful balance of textures and flavors. o Dimsum: The dim sum selection was impressive, featuring an array of steamed and fried options. The dumplings were crafted with precision, and the fillings were flavorful and succulent. o Sushi: The sushi at Bizare ASIA is a must-try. Fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented, each piece was a testament to the chef’s expertise. From classic rolls to innovative combinations, sushi lovers will not be disappointed. o Bao: The Bao buns were another highlight. Soft, fluffy, and stuffed with a variety of delicious fillings, they were an absolute treat. • Starters: The starters were equally impressive, featuring Chicken Wings, Pan-Fried Chili Fish, and Burnt Chili Prawn, to name a few. Each dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. • Main Course: The main course offered an excellent balance of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including chicken, fish, and prawn dishes. The variety and quality ensured that there was something for everyone to enjoy. • Desserts: The dessert section, though modest, was delightful. It included cheesecake, macarons, and four types of ice cream, providing a sweet ending to the meal. Value for Money: At ₹995 plus taxes for the non-vegetarian buffet and ₹875 plus taxes for the vegetarian buffet over the weekends, Bizare ASIA offers incredible value for money. The quality and variety of food far exceed the price point, making it an affordable luxury for food enthusiasts. Service: The service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure a memorable dining experience. They were more than happy to provide recommendations and cater to any specific dietary preferences. We were served by Dhal Thapa & he did his best to make us comfortable and helped us with everything we needed. They are trying their best to make their customers happy and the hotel manager herself was attending all the guest to understand their experience and get the valuable feedback. Conclusion: Bizare ASIA is a gem in Kolkata’s culinary scene. Whether you’re a fan of Asian cuisine or looking to explore new flavors, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. The combination of delectable food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere makes Bizare ASIA a dining experience worth repeating. I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return for another round of gastronomic delight.

This place looks beautiful, elegant, and luxurious. The decor is tasteful and creates a visually pleasing environment, making it a great place to visit with family or loved ones. The atmosphere is definitely one of the highlights of Bizarre Asia and sets high expectations from the outset. While the staff are polite and do try their best, the service is extremely slow and inefficient. In comparison to other buffet restaurants like BBQ Nation—where starters are served rapidly the moment you sit—here it took almost an hour to get just 4-5 starters. Most of the time our plates remained empty, and we had to request repeatedly for refills. Starters (1/5) --------------------- The starters options were very limited and quality also left much to be desired. The so-called fancy names couldn’t mask the fact that they served something as basic as chicken tossed with onions and green chilies. The dim sums and bao had such a thick layer of flour that even street-side momos would taste better. The chicken soup was probably the worst I’ve ever had. There was a fish chop, and the pan-tossed prawns were just okay. I tried sushi for the first time, so I won't comment on that. No welcome drinks were served, and drinking water is priced at Rs. 200 —which is just absurd. Mains (2/5) -------------------- In mains also their stinginess were clearly seen. A good Asian buffet typically includes exotic vegetables like mushrooms, broccoli, bamboo shoots, radish, and zucchini in their fried rice or noodles. But here, the fried rice was literally just boiled rice with egg—completely devoid of vegetables or flavor. The selection was again minimal: one fish, one chicken, one prawn, and one crab dish which was swimming in extremely spicy, overpowering gravies that killed the actual flavours. A Thai prawn curry was the only dish that stood out, but apart from that, nothing felt worth the price. Desserts (3/5) --------------------- The dessert section was small but not terrible. A few tarts, brownies, and fruit options were available, along with four common flavours of ice cream. Nothing extraordinary, but also nothing to particularly complain about here. Conclusion -------------------- Don’t be fooled by flashy Instagram reels—most of the influencers hyping this place are clearly paid and all wants to take your hard earned money. It’s all part of the marketing game that Speciality Group of Restaurant has mastered. The same people behind Mainland China, who once charged Rs.1000 for a plain plate of noodles during Covid, are now using a new name to do the same thing all over again. Our bill for 2 was Rs.2500, at Rs. 1200, this buffet is a rip-off—no lamb, no pork, no mutton, and not even a welcome drink included. Mocktails are overpriced at Rs. 250, and the food just doesn’t match the price tag. Maybe it would’ve been acceptable at Rs. 800, but as it stands, this place feels more like a scam than a special dining experience.

🌟 5-Star Experience at Bizarre Asia – A Pan-Asian Buffet Paradise in Kolkata! 🌟 If you’re a Pan-Asian food lover in Kolkata, Bizarre Asia is an absolute must-visit! We recently tried their Non-Veg Buffet and were thoroughly impressed by the variety, taste, and quality of dishes on offer. 🍣 Unlimited Sushi Heaven – Yes, you read that right! For all sushi lovers, this place is a dream come true. The sushi was fresh, well-prepared, and truly unlimited. And not just the sushi – everything in the buffet is unlimited! 🥟 Dimsums, Dumplings & Starters – The starters were absolutely delicious. The non-veg dim sums and dumplings were packed with flavor. We also tried a few veg items on request – a nice gesture by the staff, although the veg dim sum didn’t quite hit the spot for us. 🍛 Main Course Marvel – A big plus here! Unlike many buffets where the main course feels like filler, Bizarre Asia keeps the standards high throughout. Each dish had its own distinct flavor and identity. Definitely didn’t expect to enjoy the mains this much! 🍰 Desserts with a Twist – Loved the dessert section, especially the unique Asian-inspired options like Matcha Frosted Éclair and Miso Caramel Cookies. Innovative and satisfying! 👏 Top-notch Service – Special thanks to Mr. Asit for taking such good care of us, and Ms. Rituparna for efficiently managing the team and taking time to explain what sets Bizarre Asia apart from sister restaurants like Mainland China, Asia Kitchen, and Oh! Calcutta. 💡 Room for Improvement – A waste bowl/plate for starters would be greatly appreciated if provided proactively, rather than having to ask for it. Especially when enjoying starters like dimsums or prawns, it helps to have one right away. 📄 Buffet Menu – We’ve attached the buffet menu as on 21st June 2025 for your reference. The range of both Veg & Non-Veg items is impressive. 💸 Pricing – The Non-Veg Buffet is priced at Rs. 1150 (incl. taxes) per person. For the variety, unlimited servings, and quality, it’s more than worth the price. 📍 Verdict: A refreshing, high-quality buffet experience in Kolkata with standout sushi, great variety, and excellent service. Just a small tweak in service flow could make it perfect! Highly recommended! ✅

If you’re a Pan-Asian food lover in Kolkata, Bizarre Asia is an absolute must-visit!

Highly...
