Located on the 15th floor in Sector 5, Salt Lake near Webel, Five and Dime initially seemed like a promising spot for a good evening out. The ambience is decent, with options for both indoor and rooftop seating. However, the experience fell short of expectations.
Ambience: While the rooftop area had potential, the live music was terrible, ruining the mood completely. Adding to the discomfort was a foul smell emanating from the bathroom, which was hard to ignore.
Food and Drinks: The food menu was quite limited, especially the starters, with very few options available. Most items tasted mediocre except for the hari mirch kebab and fried chicken, which were decent. The drinks menu, though expansive on paper, was misleading as only one type of beer was available.
Another disappointment was their attitude toward complimentary snacks. Initially, they served some with the alcohol, but when we requested a refill, the staff misbehaved and said it would be chargeable.
For the main course, the chicken biryani was a disaster—it tasted more like a dessert than a savory dish. The fried rice was passable, but the prawns in hot sauce were inedible.
Service: Service was subpar, with staff displaying a lack of professionalism and courtesy throughout the evening.
With limited and average food options, unprofessional service, and an unpleasant atmosphere, Five and Dime fails to deliver a worthwhile experience. I wouldn’t...

The cocktails were well-balanced in terms of alcohol and flavor. However, the one I was most excited about—Gur With A Twist—turned out to be a letdown. As part of their winter special menu featuring Nolen Gur-based cocktails, this one, made with Jim Beam, espresso, and Nolen Gur, lacked the distinct sweetness of Nolen Gur. It tasted like an average bourbon cocktail and, considering it was priced at nearly double the cost of regular cocktails, felt completely unjustified.
On the other hand, the food was impressive. The Picada Chicken Supreme, a pesto-based dish, featured large, juicy, and flavorful chicken pieces. The Tangra Style Chilli Chicken had a thin, crispy coating that complemented the drinks perfectly.
Service was efficient, with courteous staff ensuring a smooth experience. Overall, it's a great place to unwind, offering good quality food and drinks at...
