I could have rated it a 5 star, but due to an unpleasant experience in the beginning , I am deducting a star. I went there yesterday with my friends and as the most of the seats were occupied, we were told to seat inside the separate confined area where there were seating arrangements as well. We did not have a problem with it but as the vibe of the place was in the main area, I requested the manager whether he can arrange a place or shift us there when any of the seats get vacant. He bluntly said he won't be able to do it as it is almost end of the day(it was around 10pm). I still requested to kindly change out table whenever it gets vacant, but it didn't feel he was in the mood to cater to a guest's request. Although he wasn't rude to us, but the hospitality seemed to be missing. I haven't faced this before, where anyone wouldn't want to shift to a desired table of a customer. Later, he did change the table after he noticed that we got frustrated with this unpleasant experience. I mean, it was not needed at all.. I just requested for another table.. and as I visited there for the first time, I didn't want my experience to be bad.
Except this, everything else was good. The food was really good . Crispy fish tasted great. The ambience is perfect for having a few drinks with your friends or colleagues. The interior/decor is filled with posters of musicians, you will love it if you are a music buft. Their playlist is great too!
I would highly...
Read moreNostalgia is a good thing but sometimes it can drag you down the rabbit hole. We found it the hard way in our last visit to this place. The Salt Lake Sector V veterans would agree that once there was nothing but Opium. It was the one and only place serving drinks at reasonable price, tasty finger foods, and some times they did good mains as well. This nostalgia brought us back to this place - to relive the olden days and our youth.
It seems that the entire world progressed, in terms of food, service, ambiance, but this place remained as a relic of a bygone era. It was a sad thing to see.
The taste of the food is below average, except the Chili Chicken. Even the french fries came out so much bland that even after 15-20 minutes, I could see half of the bowl was left. Normally, the fries are lapped up in a straight 5 minutes. One of the most cherished dishes, the Fish Irani Kabab, was as bland as a chalk and made out of some fish completely devoid of taste. So was the Chicken Rashmi Kabab. The Chicken Tangdi Kabab was red hot spicy and laden with red color.
We did not find the drinks also to be at reasonable price. The ambiance is a dark gloomy one with furniture that has lasted long enough. We were seated at a table where the seat to table height was so much that it was pretty uncomfortable to eat, drink or even make any conversation.
Finally, I will not be back to this place till I hear that it is renovated and stories of good...
Read moreThe ambience of this place is that perfectly suiting to that of a bar but sadly they don't serve alcohol. The insides have logos of many alcohol brands. The place smelt funny and damp, something not to look forward to. The lights were dim and there was a small TV too. Nothing very special.
Now coming to the food. We had ordered 2 Cantonese noodles and 1 veg fried rice and Manchurian combo. I am a Zomato Gold user. The quantity of the noodles were sooo less. Like for 200 bucks you get waaayy more quantity anywhere. The rice combo too was quite less for 99 but manageable. I really am guessing that because of Zomato gold they gave us such quantities because the other tables had better quantity. Now coming to the taste it was a blunder! All the items were tasteless. Many will say that gravy noodles are supposed to be like that but we ordered Cantonese noodles and it was nothing like it. Also they DON'T HAVE PRAWNS! The mix noodles only comes with egg and chicken. I really didn't expect such. We left the place still hungry. Never coming back here again. Please don't be appalled by the good (4+) ratings. This is a complete disaster.
Upon complaining they gave us a parcel of some pre cooked hakka noodles warmed in the microwave as a...
