The Drunken Monkey (Soot) — Restaurant in Bidhannagar

I have crossed this location but never saw the signboard as the restaurant is at basement of O2 VIP. I have checked this place with my mom hoping to try on some continental dishes. But the first appearance of it is a cool hangout place with friends for boozing. Though we are not feeling any uncomfortable. The low light, decoration, romantic music, option for live screening, cool ambience with good bar and hookah all set my mood for a cool party.

The price per dishes are not too high (approx 300) which include good option for continental veg and non veg. The option for attractive alcoholic dishes (foods  cooked with rum or wine or else dressed with wine for salad) and option for mouthwatering prawns (shrimp pepper , cocktail prawn, butter prawn) double my hunger. We have ordered - shrimp pepper - crispy and medium spicy, Maze platter ( veg - 4 small rotis stuffed with some pakorar and served with 4 different dips and salad) good option in veg with tasty dips, crispy Jamaican fried chicken - fried in rum, juicy and spicy **must try In desserts Brownie and pineapple champ (instead of cake it use pineapple piece)

I am more happy in food dishes rather than desserts. Pineapple champ its not that tasty as its sound and brownie is not up to the mark. But starter and foods are good in taste. We are 2 person taking 3 starters and 2 desserts cost us 1200 ( approx). Also servicing some how i dont feel up to the mark. Also they don't have habit to offer water unless you ask for it. Overall ambience 4 Food...

Visited there on New year.. it was over crowded. Here is my review that I have to them:

Pathetic food quality.. all poorly burnt items.. when asked for correcting the quality.. they said "it would be raw if it is lesser burnt". I could literally remove Ash powders from the food items.. location wise it's ok.. but service wise.. not at all good. According to the coupon purchased, we were promised 9 veg starters and 7 non veg starters.. but all we got was pathetic burnt fish kababs.. dry prawns from inside... Dry chicken from inside.. only OKAY item was wings.. coz it was less burnt and less dry from inside. Coming to the main course.. we had to take and leave the main course as everything was super dry from inside.. on the name of the deserts.. we had some ok food.. coz, it mostly contained fruits, ice creams, chocolate syrup and cakes.. (which I m sure they just bought it and didn't make it).

Overall not a good buffet place.. just ok for a highway side dhaba.. even most of the road side dhabas have better menu items and greater quality...

Absolutely aweful experience. I advise other person if you are going to stay in this hotel be cautious about cheating as because at any point of time you can cheated by the hotel personal, particularly I have experienced such thing just today morning reception personal told me to avail there car dropping service and told me that they only have prepaid service and charged me 473 rupees with tax but that car never comes after waiting at hotel lobby for 45 minutes. Several time asking reception personal casually replied every time to me to wait for 5 minutes and laughing, as I have a flight to catch I refused to wait further more and avail another taxi which is standing for long at in front of hotel gate and irony is that that reception personal told me if you wish you can avail that taxi service and told me that no refund is possible once payment has been done....Really what an example & process to...
