An unforgettable experience! While the ambiance is fairly average and simple, the food more than makes up for it, and the friendly staff ensures you have a pleasant experience.

I ordered the Chicken 65 and Murgh Dum Biryani, along with their complimentary delicious raita, and I must say, the meal was exceptional.

The Chicken 65 was cooked to perfection – crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, with the perfect blend of spices. It made for a delightful appetizer and set the stage for what was to come.

The star of the meal was undoubtedly the Murgh Dum Biryani. The biryani came in a beautifully sealed handi, preserving the aroma and flavor of the dish. The long-grained basmati rice was flavorful and aromatic, while the chicken was tender and infused with rich, authentic spices. Every bite was a burst of flavor, and the portion size was generous enough to satisfy.

The complimentary raita was the perfect accompaniment – creamy, refreshing, and just the right balance to the rich biryani. To top it all off, they served papad on the side, which added a nice crunch to the overall meal.

Overall, Biryani by Kilo in Patliputra is a must-visit for biryani lovers in Patna. The food is authentic, flavorful, and the service is excellent. I can’t wait to go back and try more...

  1. They surely don't serve the best Biryani in town and by extension it wouldn't be very wise to measure their Biryani by the metrics of authenticity, though the Biryani is more than good to satisfy your craving
  2. You'll be slightly disappointed here if you've had Biryani at eateries in Hyderabad, Lucknow, Delhi or Kolkata, but that's the case for disappointment for any popular Biryani chain considering Price/Taste ratio
  3. Excellent ambience and laid back vibe
  4. Polite and humble staff
  5. Biryani gets served at your table roughly 30-50 minutes after placing the order, nothing less nothing more
  6. You'll be served some kind of Papad with two distinct chutneys, this is complementary to your order
  7. Biryani By Kilo's Biryani tastes better by miles upon tasting Behrouz's Biryani. In case you're stuck with these two options, please go with Biryani By Kilo any day
  8. They're expensive, expect lighter pockets while exiting
  9. At the entrance there's a guy who may or may not ask your name and phone number, I suggest giving those details specially if you're there with your car. The parking is tight in that lane and you wouldn't want somebody honking full throttle if you happen to park your car obstructing someone...

I am giving 1 star only for decent taste. It's little better than most of the biryanis available in Patna(The Downtown cafe and Biryani Mahal(Kotwali) are better options than this one). And that's why they have overshooted the price like anything. When I saw the starter coming, I first thought it was side condiments, such as pickle or vinegar onion. The portion of starter was so small that only 1 could have eaten and we had to divide it into 4. We couldn't order another because the wait time is 20-30 mins. I wonder what they cook taking so much time. Starter name was chicken ghee roast and it costed Rs 225. A regular biryani for 2 people costs Rs. 500 here which is insane. Highly overpriced place. Go here if you prefer only taste over everything and most importantly if you have decided to spend 800-1000 for 2 people. Service was also not so good. There were no salt and pepper on the table. The waiters roam clueless on the floors. Parking only easily available for 2 wheelers. 4 wheelers needs to be parked roadside. I would prefer Biryani Mahal or The downtown cafe over this place anytime in Patna. Not...

Okay, I have heard about this place from many people. Yes, I do have experience of take-out but dine-in, I had recently experienced. Situated near Patliputra colony and opp. To the UNICEF office. Entry of this place is quite intact which cuts half a point. We ordered: 1. Murg Hyderabadi Biryani 2. Chicken tikka biryani Let do not say, that this was the best biryani I ate in Patna. Yes, the rice was soft and yum to eat and they had the concept of the open kitchen which I found unique in Patna. Loved the way they served the biryani in a handi. The staff was polite and humble. It will take roughly 30 minutes for biryani to serve, which makes sense. The flesh of the meat was soft to eat and it taste very good. Quantity, somewhat I felt was good for 2 persons though we ended up ordering 2 biryanis 😹. To conclude: If you love eating biryani outside and also want a decent place to have it, then BiryaniByKilo is a good place. Only one thing which I didn't understand was 'Reserve a table online. I did, but they didn't even bother about it.

I had never been to Biryani by Kilo before, so I decided to try it one day. The ambience wasn’t good — it was hot inside as only one AC was working and it wasn’t effective. The chairs and tables looked old; they’ve clearly never updated the furniture. The only thing that seemed well-maintained was their copper or brass utensils, which matched the theme of the restaurant. Now about the food — I asked for Kolkata Biryani, but they told me it would take 40–50 minutes. So, I went with whatever was readily available and chose the Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. They brought it in about 10 minutes, served in their signature utensils, along with some raita and a few onion rings. The taste was completely different. Either I’ve been eating the wrong biryani all my life, or the BBK biryani was just bad. I didn’t like the taste at all. Honestly, most other restaurants serve better-tasting biryani. If I have a choice, I’ll never visit this place again
