We were greeted by Mr. Arnab, the supervisor, who gave us a friendly welcome and seated us at a lovely table by the window. Though it was dark, the view of the lights by the sea was peaceful and calming. The interiors were elegant, with soft music playing in the background — it set the perfect mood.
We were there as a family — myself, my wife, and our daughter — and we were celebrating our daughter’s birthday. Every part of the evening felt thoughtfully done, and it was something we’ll always remember.
We started with the Garlic-Pepper Sardines, which were flavorful and served on warm toasted pao. Then came the Norwegian Salmon Steak, which was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with papaya-chilli salsa and rocket leaves.
But the highlight of the evening — something truly unforgettable — was the Whole Baked Snapper. It was brought to our table by Chef Par Singh, who performed a dramatic fire flambe table-side as part of the service. It was an incredible experience to watch, and the dish itself was absolutely delicious — cooked to perfection with thyme, seasonal vegetables, and a smooth tomato tarragon butter sauce. This is one of the most exceptional dishes we’ve ever had — everything was 100%, no doubts at all.
For dessert, we ordered the Moelleux au Chocolat to celebrate our daughter’s birthday — a warm chocolate cake with orange sauce. It was rich, soft, and completely out of this world. My daughter was so happy, and my wife and I also truly enjoyed every bite.
I also had a glass of Sangiovese and a Sangria, both of which paired nicely with the meal.
A big thank you to Mr. Arnab for his kind, humble, and professional service throughout. We were genuinely touched by the remarkable gesture from one of the supervisors during our stay. He went out of his way to bring a beautiful birthday cake for our daughter, completely surprising not just her, but our entire family. It was an incredibly thoughtful act that turned a special day into an unforgettable memory.
This kind of attention to detail and heartfelt service goes far beyond expectations. It reflects the true spirit of hospitality that the Taj is known for. His warmth, care, and personal touch made us feel not like guests, but like part of the Taj family.
