Though I had a bad experience once, my multiple visits here changed my views about this restaurant. Thus, changing my review (keeping the last one for posterity). The food was awesome ... and so was the behaviour and courteousness of the staff... especially Ms Aanchal. I would now rate the services 10/10. Probably there has been a change of staff and that has worked positively...

Previous review:- This was my second visit to this Restaurant... and it was a regrettable one...

To be frank, the food was good, however the overall experience was awful....

Firstly, being a weekend there was a waiting period, which is understandable..., however once seated inside the restaurant, the service should be prompt; which was not the case...

After a lot of waiting, the Captain did come with the Menu, however, it took an awful lot of time to get the soup... That too we ordered for 1/2 but they didn't divide the portion. When we asked for the same, they kept an empty bowl as if suggesting to divide it ourselves....

In fact they forgot the order for dimsums and had to be reminded twice for the order. Meanwhile we also ordered a drink, which was not served for close to 45mins....

Main course was no different.... We had ordered a rice based dish and another vegetable based dish. They brought the vegetable first without rice. When we told them to serve both the dishes together and to serve the dimsum first, they were reluctant in taking back the vegetable and serve it warm alonwith rice. By this time they served the dimsum.

Once they served the main course, i.e. rice and veg... we found that there was a dead fly in the rice. We asked for the Captain who took the order but he did not turn up.... we had to ask the waiter to change our order....

The revised order took almost 45 mins to be served...

Meanwhile, the manager (not the captain) did offer a discount probably to cover up for the "dead fly", however, the entire experience was a forgettable and regrettable one...

I must admit that the variety and taste of the food is good, however, the service is pathetic.

Unfortunately there is no option for zero stars, hence putting 1 star. Absolutely not recommended especially with family and especially not on...

Kalsang Café is a delightful gem for those craving authentic Tibetan cuisine combined with a warm, inviting ambiance. Nestled in the heart of the city, the café offers a perfect escape with its cozy interiors adorned with traditional Tibetan decor, creating an atmosphere that is both relaxing and culturally enriching.

During our visit, we were thoroughly impressed by the diverse menu, which features a range of Tibetan delicacies. Each dish was a testament to the culinary traditions of Tibet, prepared with care and precision. The momos were a highlight, perfectly steamed with a generous filling that was both flavorful and comforting. The Thukpa, a hearty Tibetan noodle soup, was another standout, rich in flavor and served piping hot, making it an ideal choice for a comforting meal.

What truly set our experience apart was the exceptional hospitality. Special thanks to Mr. Chandan, who ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of excellent. His attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel welcomed and valued as guests. He went above and beyond to cater to our needs, offering insightful recommendations and ensuring our meals were tailored to our preferences.

In addition to the delectable food and impeccable service, Kalsang Café also offers affordability, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. The prices are reasonable, allowing you to indulge in a rich culinary experience without breaking the bank.

Overall, Kalsang Café is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Tibetan food in a warm and welcoming environment. We left with satisfied palates and a deep appreciation for the hospitality extended by Mr. Chandan and the entire team. Highly...

Taste - 5/5 Portion - 5/5 Ambience - 5/5 Service - 4/5 Value for money - 5/5 The utmost desired addition to tricity offering authentic tibetan, chinese, korean and thai food. The ambience is kept authentic with traditional elements. Rugs on seats, hanging lamps and wall paintings are sure to give tibet feels. The staff is very friendly & polite but they need to work on their waiting time. The food is totally worth the hype and the portion size is fair enough. 1. Momos - 5/5 Loved their chicken cheese momos, served steaming hot with a thin flour layer and generous stuffing. Every bite has succulent chicken with cheese melting in. Momo chutney was spicy but way too delicious to resist. Must try. Devil momos served in schezwan gravy are a great twist to regular steamed momos. 2. Chicken bulgogi barbeque - 5/5 Marinated boneless chicken pieces barbequed live on the table is a fun experience. You can choose to barbeque for yourself too. Onions are added to barbeque pan mid way. Served with crunchy lotus stems, lettuce and sides makes it a wholesome meal. 3. Korean eggroll kimbap - 5/5 Similar to sushi, kimbaps are cooked with steam white rice & dried seaweed. It was generously stuffed with egg and tasted delicious with soya sauce. 4. Honey noodles with ice cream - 5/5 Suggested by the staff, this crispy fried noodles coated with honey served with scoops of icecream tasted absolutely delectable. 6. Barley tea - 5/5 It's a complimentary tea served. As traditional as it sounds, it's way more detoxifying to sip hot and relax. This place is a must try. Planning to visit again soon.
