Wild Thyme — Restaurant in Chandigarh

If zero rating could be possible, I would’ve given that. So I went to this place 2 weeks back (after speaking to the owner) piya gulathi where my requirement was clear since day 1 that i want to book this place for my engagement and it has to be private. Manager ganesh showed us the place and we planned to book it as they were giving the entire place to us. (As per manager GANESH)We went there for good 3-4 times and did multiple call coordinators with the manager ganesh. We met the decor person yesterday (her name is RAJNI) who told us that if we will not finalise decor from her then she will pick all her decorated stuff which is already there at the time of our event which seems unethical to us but still we tried to negotiate the prices as she was charging us a lot along with her personal profit which she mentioned to us over a WhatsApp chat. Later on we got to know through her that she is also one of the partner of that place (trying to get money from people through both ways by booking place and decor as well) and she was very rude to me and my fiancé. Still we tried to settle up everything as per her budget and the moment we planned to give them the advance she told her that she will not provide the entire place to us as she is not aware about any such conversation with the manager (RIGHT AT THE TIME OF BOOKING WHERE WE WASTED OUR 2 WEEKS WITH THEM). She also asked for 3 lakh rupees to get the entire place just for 50 people with veg starter and main course w/o any liquor. Trust me guys these people are so rude and they don’t know how to behave or talk. Even after all this drama nobody tried to reach out to us. It is better to go somewhere else rather than wasting your time with such people. I am glad we haven’t booked this place otherwise they would’ve ruined my special day with so called attitude that they were throwing at us. I had made the booking from swiggy which was giving 50% off on the food menu, usually soft drinks are included in the food menu only. So after reaching the Wild Thyme, i once again confirmed whether this offer would be applicable on soft drinks or not, otherwise we can go somewhere else. The staff confirmed that soft drinks will be included in the offer and we can pay the bill through swiggy to get 50% off. However when all is done it's time to pay the bill, they blatantly refused and said soft drinks will not be included in this offer and that we would have to pay the full amount. I let them know this staff of yours had confirmed me at the start that it will be included, then they started making excuses that it's the 1st day of that staff and they have no idea, their Salary will be deducted, etc so we cannot adjust this into that offer.

After understanding their concern, i said okay let's meet halfway, and let me make another booking from zomato and then i can pay soft drinks bill in that 25% off offer.

Then they started making more excuses that we cannot allow 2 offers on the same table, etc. etc. and they gradually became so rude and arrogant that we should have known this already and why did you felt the need to confirm with the staff.

They were so rude and was not ready to understand anything and they made so many threats that finally i had to pay the full amount.

Just before publishing this review, i checked the reviews on zomato dining, and there are thousands of similar complaints which directly means that they are doing this intentionally and running a business in bad faith and...

It was my first visit to the outlet, and I was very disappointed, the menu doesn't have good options to choose from, we ordered a pizza which was not available during afternoon hours, which was really disappointing, a cold coffee that was fine, a cheesecake shake, that was okay too, and a shawarma sandwich which was the worst of all, that order took more then 40 minutes to be served, and the chicken was not even fresh, and the worst part is that, that wasn't even shawarma, the chicken was simply tossed in a pan with hummus, either the management does not know about what shwarma really is, or this is how they are cheating their customers, it was a very bad experience, we just had one bite of the sandwich and we had to leave it, the menu description was misleading, I wonder what other descriptions are wrongly written. When we raised a complaint to the staff they were kind enough to waive off the bill amount. The service staff was polite and humble the reason I am giving 2 stars is only because the behavior of the service staff, otherwise the outlet doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating. It was a really bad food experience for us. The management either needs to change the menu description or they need to use same cook accordingly, and please do not serve stale food, the items prices are quite high so they should serve good...
