Poor customer service. Disinterested staff.
We arrived party of six after Sagar Ratna was highly recommended by a local. Upon arrival the restaurant seemed at 50% capacity. Only two menus were provided for a group of six and one more was provided when we could finally get someone’s attention.
The staff seemed very busy and disinterested for some odd reason. Restaurant didn’t seem busy at all. After waiting a while we flagged a staff member down to take our order.
This gentlemen was not paying attention and instead just kept telling us everything we would mention is not available without even listening. Then finally I asked if he could just recommend anything then he left abruptly. Eventually he came back and still kept moving around without paying attention.
I asked again if he could recommend something that they had available at the time. He said please order anything from South Indian menu. We opened that page on the menu and asked for three different items. To all of them he said those were unavailable. I asked again if he can just tell us which item is available then he disappeared again abruptly.
Unfortunately we had been there too long at that time and decided to leave and go somewhere else. Plenty of staff roaming around but no one there to help.
I would strongly recommend going somewhere else if you...
Read moreSagar Ratna is a South Indian food outlet found all across North India. They serve up authentic South Indian dishes alongside some North Indian snacks. We've visited their Sector 17 outlet a couple of times. At night, there might be a wait for a table, but it's easier to find a seat during breakfast or brunch hours. Now, let's talk about the food:
Dosa: Whether it's Rava or regular dosa, they're crispy with a simple but tasty masala filling. The chutney and sambhar are very delicious. The sambhar is hot and tangy, which feels great, especially when it's piping hot. South Indian Thali: We had high hopes for the special thali based on the menu picture, but it was just average. It lacked the authentic South Indian flavor we were expecting. North Indian Combo: Surprisingly, the Dal Makhani and Naan combo was good too. The salad that came with it was nice, and the dal was hot with good flavor. We also tried their Pav Bhaji, but it was disappointing; the Bhaji was overly salty.
The service at the Sector 17 outlet is excellent. The staff are very attentive and always go the extra mile to meet your needs.
Overall, Sagar Ratna is a good choice if you're looking for South Indian food, especially if you stick to basics like dosa, idli,...
Read morePathetic experience, would not recommend others to visit this reastaurant, i was searching for the restaurant which serves satvik/Jain food (without onion/garlic), as it was suggested by google I went there but there was not much option available in Jain food, I ordered Paneer butter masala from North Indian food menu and they only serve plain dosa, vadda and 2-3 type of uttapam so I ordered one veg uttapam as well, but both the dishes were not that tasty and butter roti was better than the butter naan, butter naan was very tight to chew, veg uttapam was also tasteless only cabbage and raw beans were there not even cooked properly 😭 they served white nariyal chutney in very small katori, they do not provide pickles, manager was also very rude kind of person. Overall it was a very dissatisfactory experience as they charged high prices (total bill 1019/-) for the food which it doesn't deserve, food taste quality is not up to the level what they are charging for. Unhappy...
