Romeo Lane — Restaurant in Civil Lines

Romeo Lane was a long due visit in my list and finally we decided to cherish the weekends at this outlet.

Starting off with what worries the most - they have their own parking space + valet service which was a pleasant start for me.

With that, the exquisite ambiance is worth appreciating. Their outdoor seating and dim indoor seating are equally joyful. I personally recommend outdoor seating given the surreal weather nowadays. Love the lighting setup and overall space offered.

In food we had,

➊ SMOKED CHICKEN QUESADILLA House smoked cheese, Jack cheese, Fire roasted bell peppers, Jalapeno aioli, house salad. There was a lot going on with the presentation in this one. The quesadilla's tasted alluring with the concoction of meats and spices.

➋ CHIMICHANGA Tortilla bread stuffed with chicken and staple of Mexican locale, Finished with cheese sauce over it. I was really flattered with the cheese sauce that lifted the overall taste of this dish. The deep fried burrito had a delightful stuffing, the chicken bits were perfectly tender and it was well blended with salsa.

➌ BUTTER CHICKEN PAO BHAJI Butter Chicken fondue with crunchy buttery pao bhaji. Cannot get over the the butter chicken fondue, it was absolutely lip smacking. Pao Bhaji may make the dish a little out of interest but fondue had lifted the mood.

➍ CLEOPATRA & MARK'S PYRAMID Chicken shish touk, Green pea falafel, Cheese Sambusec, Tabbouleh, Carrot hummus, Kalonji Labneh, Walnut muttabel, Tzatziki, and fresh pita. A wholesome plate of multiple assortments in one platter. The Chicken shish touk tasted amazing.

DRINKS

➊ SUMMER SURPRISE Mango Smoothie, Coriander Cucumber, Cordial, Yellow Bell Pepper & Sprite. Perfect summer vibes with an utter sweet concoction of Mango Smoothie and Sprite. The sweetness could have been minimalized with some slight tanginess.

➋ HAZEL N COOKIE SHAKE Cookie Dough Cordial, Frappers, Milk, Coco Mix and Hazelnut Cordial. Frothy and wholesome taste of this drink made me prefer shakes over cocktails.

DESSERTS

➊ BLUEBERRY CHEESECAKE. This was one of the most exciting item we ordered. We did not expect that the entire cheesecake will be made by blueberry. The taste was heavenly and it is highly recommended.

Quite an interesting experience. We had dinner there with a few friends. Had to ask them thrice for the hookah service. The third time I had to tell the manager Mr. Rajeev that although I'm not angry about it but he could take my feedback for improvement of service... I'd give it a 3 star for ambience. But the ambience was ruined twice by the cat that kept running through our legs. When the bill came it was for Rs. 14,084 /-. I counted 14,500 (rechecked by my friend), then I saw an 1100 service charge on the bill. Although I would have been fine with paying that amount I didn't appreciate it being forced upon me. But the manager rudely asked me to check with my lawyer, called me cheap and showed me a court judgement which I think he didn't expect me to read coz it clearly said that a customer can't be forced to pay a service charge. He just read the last line which said they had to display the information regarding the charge at the entry and in the menu and should have informed the customer of the same. He ignored the first few lines, the information wasn't on display and I wasn't informed... Apparently only the menu said something about the service charge. I pulled out 1500 from the 14,500 we had counted and asked him to call the police if he thought I was wrong. He backed off and walked away mumbling something. As we got to the lift the waiter (having pulled out money from our payment) came and said we'd only given 11,500. So in summation Avoid the place If you want to go the ambience is just ok. Service is a bit on the poor side Count your money twice and then make them count it in front of you before leaving. There are lots of better options...

Monday evenings have never been so lit ever. I was mesmerised to see the crowd and the strong ambiance of the place on a Monday. I expected that who would be partying just after a weekend, but guess what I was totally wrong.

I went with my colleague after a short meeting for dinner and drinks and I'm genuinely so glad I chose Romeo Lane. First of all, it is beautifully architectured and it looks heavenly. Has different floors and even an indoor seating area for families or someone who wants quieter atmosphere.

We started by ordering our drinks and then ordered my favourite yet never disappointing Buffalo Margherita Pizza. It was so good, I'm planning to come back just for this. It's difficult to find a good thin crust pizza but I guess, I have found it finally.

We also ordered Black rice arancini which was small fried balls with black rice and small portions of veggies inside it. It was good too.

Then we, moved on the main course where we decided to order Jodha Akbar which is a fusion of Biryani, Dal Makhni Shots, Tadka Raita and Jalapeno Naan. I am so in love with the place because of how well Dal Makhni was made. It was so creamy and to top it, Jalapeno Naan was crispy and tasted amazing too.

Shahi Halwa Tart is what I've heard that is really good here and I'm so glad I ordered it. It was by far the best halwa tart I've ever had.

I strongly strongly recommend that you visit this place with your family, colleague, your spouse or your girlfriend. You're gonna love the ambiance.
