Malls buzzing with the energy of âwhat-Covidâ crowds. Restaurants with long queues of patrons who seem to have gone hungry for two years. If the chefs and staff of recently-opened restaurants need inspiration, itâs all there âŚ.but not for the Mandarin Trail in The Great India Place [TGIP] in Noida. Ever since The Mall of India opened, TGIP has been anything but great. Shut shops, tired hallways and absent crowds have turned it into rather sad place. We found ourselves at TGIP only because the stuff we wanted to buy was only available at Reliance Digital. And the store, in keeping with the morose character of the mall, took forever to complete the purchase formalities leaving us with no option but to find a dining option within the mall. And so, we (5 of us) landed at the Mandarin Trailâreluctantly I must confess. It wasnât as shiny as it used to be and only a few tables were occupied, which, furthered our doubts. We decided to stick with âsafeâ options: Veg Kothe, Sweet corn chicken soup, and sea Food Soup for starters and Veggies and Butter Pepper Sauce, Chilli Garlic Noodles, Fiery Hunan Chicken, for mains plus beer. Wrapped it up with Sizzling Brownie and Darsaan. Everything was damn goodâas good as âIndian Chineseâ gets. Service tooâdespite only two waitersâwas prompt and responsive. Everyone at the restaurantâfrom chefs to waitersâwere on top of their game, in the most depressing of environments. It reminded me of the movie about a theatre that was running its last show, and yet, everyone went about doing their job professionally as if they were opening for the first time. I could have availed 20 percent off on the bill with my Zomato Gold membership but decided not to. It was poignant yet inspiring. I donât know how long can they go on with such low footfalls in the mall, but as long as they are there, they deserve a chance. If you do end up in TGIP for some weird reason like us, give them a try. If you donât, maybe order from them. Best of luck...
Read moreIf there was a zero star rating, I'd give that. Do yourself a favor by saving your money and not bothering to order from them. I ordered their chicken rice bowl via zomato but only received extremely spicy, oily and watery chicken, without rice. When I raised this to the restaurant, they refused to accept their fault. The manager (who even refused to share his name) said I'll have to complaint to zomato for a refund as it's Zomato's fault. After almost 2 hours of back and forth, Zomato finally resolved it for me, but when I told the manager it's been a bitter experience ordering from here, he said "did I tell you it's been a poor experience talking to you?" And he even went on to add that "now you'll write a bad review about this" - which frankly, I wasn't intending to at first, but after he made some personal remarks about my profession, I was compelled to write this! Though I'm sure they'll do nothing about this feedback. They seemed least interested or bothered to acknowledge customer feedback and the manager instead kept trying to tell me that he gave me 15 minutes of his time to take my call while driving - I wonder why a manager would put his personal mobile number on zomato and then talk to the customer like he has obliged them! Just put the restaurant's number if you don't want to be disturbed in your personal time or don't have time to attend to guests. Don't blame a customer who is already struggling with a wrong and bad quality order! The restaurant has fallen to terrible lows - would strongly...
Read moreWe are loyal group of Chinese food freaks and have been regularly visiting Mandarin Trail for over 10 years now. Honestly, it's never enough. While I enjoy the beer, there are number of cocktail and mocktail options available for all age groups.
They serve wonderful Chinese cuisine and have recently introduced Indian menu as well, which too is quite delicious.
Staff is very professional and like a family, hence we have never had a problem with taking the kid their since he was 2. He is 9 now and has a strong bonding with everyone at Mandarin Trail.
Ambience of the place is great and to make it more exciting, they offer 3 different dining spaces, all with different setup, view and lighting arrangement.
Music is good on most of the days as they play 80s and 90s numbers. One big positive is the toilet inside the restaurant, which is not available in most of the eateries in Great India Place.
Last but not the least, Pradeep is the man who has been managing the place beautifully since we started visiting Mandarin trail. Everyone in the staff is as old as the place and i feel a restaurant that can retain the staff might really know the recipe to good taste and good hosting.
We go there once a week and plan to continue doing so. A blessing during the lockdown. The opened pretty soon because the level of hygiene maintained by the staff is the best.
Try out the place and i am sure you will thank...
